Do you need Gb Lan for a reason?

AFAIK, in order for you to fully use the bandwith for Gb Lan, you need to have PCI-X or PCI-Express. This is because a typical PCI slot does not have enough bandwith to fully use the Gb function on those cards. Just as an FYI, some motherboards (ie Intel) have Gb Lan, but they run at full speed since they seperated it from the PCI bus.
