I reformatted two days ago and everything went smoothly except for one thing. I can't gain access to my network anymore and I can't forward ports anymore. Before you say something I am forwarding the ports to the right IP. Maybe it's one of the updates I downloaded but I need to get it working by Friday.

On my network all my computers are in MSHOME. From my computer, the one I reformatted, I can't see any of the other computers but mine under MSHOME. From all the other computers I can see my computer but when I try to get into it it says access restricted even though I have file sharing tuned on. I need to transfer some files from one of the other computers to mine and this is making it difficult. The worst is my programs I've written are on the other computer and I need them back by Friday. I didn't think it'd give me a hard time when I would try to get them back.

The next problem is I need to forward ports but it's not working only on this computer. The IP is 192.168.1.102 and even though I forward the ports in the router setup page it doesn't actually work.

I don't have any firewalls on my computer so I dunno what the problem is. Maybe one of the Windows security updates is blocking everything. I didn't get SP2 though. I've given up and gotten a stress headache from dealing with this crap. Maybe one of you know what's wrong with this thing but it's too fustrating for me to think about right now.

Sorry bro, networking aint my 'bag-o-chips' kinda thing. Windows XP sorts most of my networking out for me, and the kit I use works pretty fluidly with it. My Wi-Fi network always works immediately to when installed.

SAYING that, i have a wired computer network problem downstairs, and it refuses to read anything outside of it, although i can still access its shared folders, and the router claims its part of the network.

Routers are right bastards tbh. My router was absolutely fine until I wiped off my HDI mean my router accesses the internet fine, but at first it didn't allow port forwarding like yours, and the exact same thing happened with the MSHOME thing. In my network places, it's just got my computer - and all the other computers on the network can see it, but like yours it just says "Access denied blah" even though file sharing's on. As for port forwarding I got lucky - It didn't work at all for 2-3 months, then out of the blue every app works fine! No ports forwarded, no DMZ!

My only guess is that maybe your firmware for your router is different to the ones on the other computers?
