Ok I just got a Spider II 210 but since everyone says they're crap I think I'm gonna take it back (I got until this weekend to do so)...so what would be a good amp for gigs and band playing (50+ watts preferably) that isnt gonna cost me much more than $400 that can replace it once I get my money back (for the spider II 210)? Thanks.

I agree, spider isnt that great...im not gonna say which are great and which arent cause it depends on hte kind of sound you want. Just stay clear of spider amps....and price match. If you find one you like, check out ebay and see what its selling for. Also, try another forum and ask if anyone who has it likes it.

Fender is pretty pathetic when it comes to heavy sounding music, like metal. Marshal is the way to go if thats the case.

I was checking out a vox, im not really into blues Im more into metal. I heard the vox can do a nice range of styles, including metal and hard rock and handles distortion quite nicely. Im about to go back to the store in like an hour to take back that Spider II and Im wondering if I should buy it at the store or online..the tax is the deciding factor really

BTW Im about to get a Vox AD50VT I think

Well the store lowered the price so that with tax its the same as the internet price, actually 5 bux cheaper. Anyway I didnt get it, but I did get a refund for the Spider II...I borrowed my uncles (Peavey 'rage') it sounds like crap (at least for metal) so I just got my old crate gx-15. *sigh* I need better gear
