New AoC Trailer

My pleasure, I'm just amazed at the graphics and the combat and everything else really !
 
It's going to be either this or Aion as my next major MMO. Right now, not much is known about either as far as gameplay mechanics, but I simply love Aion's art direction.

I was actually planning on making an AoC thread a few days ago to see if anyone else was interested in this game.

Cool to see a few people who are looking forward too it.

I loved the new Conan game for the 360, sure it was pure hack'n'slash with a mediocre gameplay, but hey, it was fun as hell slashing pirates up in the middle, ripping their entrails out with your fists, smacking them into one another, throwing them into spikes, impaling them!

Will this one have a SP component or is it MP only?
 
Looks beautiful. I'm really interested in the game but since I'd have to upgrade for it to be playable (and it's currently the only game I'd have to do that for which I'm interested in) I'll have to wait and see.

Gunner, I remember back when it was announced they said it would have an SP component/area, but I heard they scrapped it, not 100% though.
 
Well it never was true SP. The first twenty levels are spent in newbie area outside of tortage, but yeah they changed it. It's 100% MP MMO.
 
K, shame, seeing as 99.9% of all MMOs are total grindfests, will this be any different?

sort of ..you can play the single player portion (your own instance in tortage) by sleeping in a bed at the thirsty dog inn ..the night time quests are single player only ..but besides that from 1-20 you (can) play with other players (daytime)
 
Ok ty for the info Stern, so, from what I've gathered you're the guy on this board the most up to date on the game, if you would compare it to another MMO, which would it be? I'm just trying to figure out if I should be interested in this game, I hate most MMOs because most of them are grindfests(like WoW), only MMOs I have liked are EVE and Ultima Online.
 
It's not really doing it for me in terms of the look of Conan based on the books, however I'll probably buy it retail just to see how it plays for a month or so.

Why lol? there's plenty of info out there, you just gotta look. If you skip all the faqs, interviews, dev posts, news articles, weekly updates and just go directly for the screenshots. Yeah you won't know much.

Theres information but it's very general - it's enough to get a good idea but it's not the nitty gritty, down to each individual detail sort of information.

But with less than 4 months left to go until release (hopefully) we'll probably start seeing more and more detailed information about classes, the world, etc.
 
i just applied for the beta cause this game is looking EPIC!!
 
WoW is the only online game with a monthly fee that I've ever played. I doubt I'll ever subscribe to any other game again
 
After paying for a game like WoW, I can understand why you'd be cautious.

Bastards still haven't invited me into the beta.
Gods and Heroes turned out to be a huge turd and it definitely deserved being canceled.
This however,me likes very much!

Grinding doesn't really bother me. I like content and a fun skill/combat system. WoW was fun in the beginning but after running out of things to do, it got stale. It did manage to hold my attention on and off for three years though. Although, the cartoony art direction and HORRIBLE texture resolutions really started to piss me off.

I guess you could say that I like a good balance of both PvE and PvP, which is why i'm not really looking forward to Warhammer. Too much or too little of either and it's hard for me to get into it. Any word on AoC as far as this goes?
 
So what makes this MMO different to all the others where I just click about with my mouse? It looks good graphics and good fun but if all I'm doing is clicking on an enemy, then clicking the attack move, I'm out. :p

They're called hotkeys, learn them well.

you manually hit enemies by pressing keys, it's not like other mmos

Ja - there is no "auto-attack" in Age of Conan, every sword swing, arrow, and spell are cast manually using the numbpad keys.

Example: The 7 key would be a downward slash whereas the 3 key would be a upward slash.
 
I thought it was 1, 2, 3 for swings? wsad for movement
