New battlefiled 2 Videos and screens

Demo release in mid-June = can't wait.

aqq no night maps, that's kind of cool! ya but the explosions are kind of cheap, just like bf1942, but everything else is looking good!!!!!

Dammit...mid-June? Isn't the game being released mid-late June or July or something?

I was hoping for May demo.

Wow.
The infantry combat looks REALLY fun.
June is so far away...:(

Its so real and life:

I finish college in mid-june. Then i have 3 months off before i go back! :D Sah-weet!

The games looking awesome. Love how the infantry looks, bet its even better when playing the game.

Can't wait for this!

damn gorgons shot is nice, is that ingame? or from a prerendered movie.

look a hell of alot better than what i saw in that recent german sites preview. wouldnt be sure if its ingame.

It is in-game; look at the blocky shadowmaps cast from the buildings. There's also AA being used, but not enough to smooth out the aliasing on the edges of buildings.

Ehhh. Can't be bothered watching the vid's as i have faith in the gameplay of the Battlefield series. But i'm not sold on the graphics. Kinda look like Battlefield Vietnams except with soft shadows, normal maps and self-shadowing. The graphics still look really good but i'm still kinda iffy about them thats all.

Damn, I'll be in California in mid-June!

Hey dude, you can come over and enjoy it on my computer! :P

The gameplay video looks and sounds amazing. Im really digging the gun sounds. I just read that a demo will be coming out in Mid-June. I wish it was earlier though.

"Official Release Date for Battlefield 2: June 23, 2005 (Ship Date: June 22). This date will be earlier for Europeans, it's estimated it will be June 17, 2005"

wha? that's a first (i think) usually europeans get it after the north american release. The should release the demo a month earlier ..as it is it's too close to the ship date

Arf can't wait for this! I'm a huge BF fan :)

Here's something interesting: look at this pic http://www.bfnation.net/images/news/melee/apr05/screen003.jpg in the upper right hand corner of each class selection, there's another weapon but it's greyed out. And here's another shot: http://www.bfnation.net/images/news/melee/apr05/kook.jpg you can clearly see the other weapon. What do you suppose you have to do to unlock these weapons?

Get a certain rank I assume. They have a total online ranking system. I suppose maybe once you get a certain rank with that class, you can use the better weapon kit. Sounds sweet to me :D

The ragdolls dont look that good. They still need some work. It looks like there moving in slow motion all the time...

What do you expect? HL2 style ragdolls. Can you imagine 64 people playing on one server with those kinds of physics? Major slowdown. Its better than plain death animations.

The ragdolls are fine.
As long as tank shells cause them to fly across the map, they're great.

edit:

man i just watched the 'gameplay_march05_nl_hi' vid and it was awesome, the weapons models and character models look great, seeing a grenade go off and a guy flying through the air was awesome, im pretty hyped for this, hopefully it wont lag like a bit*h like ive heard other bf games can do.

yes, you have rank for each person, so better rank and you will have better weapon.
pics and vid are geetting better and better...
relase demo NOW ;)

yes, yes i do. HL2 has spoiled us and now makes all other games look bad.

Weren't really any serious netcode problems in BF42 as long as the server was decent. A lot of people seemed to have confused the way the guns work (you have to lead) for some sort of lag problem.

yeah, bfv is fine if you play on a server within your own country or one that's close. Point of Existence (the present day mod for vietnam) gets quite laggy, but those maps are huge, and were with the vietnam engine that wasn't designed for such large spaces.

Speak for yourself. Im fine with the ragdolls and I play HL2 all the time. Im not spoiled.

They look great.

same here. The bfv ragdolls are even acceptable- its not a part of the game i find to be major.

I don't think there are ragdolls in BF:V.

:burp:

oh well, they go flying when hit by explosions- whatever that's called. You're probably right.

:) I owe it to this thread... I actually didn't really care for BF:2 until I saw those videos! Man this game really looks more amazing than the last i've seen it. I am really anticipating this game!

holy shit, the system specs for this game are crazy!

i just got this shiny new pc to play all these new games on, and now i have to upgrade? :(

128 MB video card (must support 1.4 shaders)

Recommended Specification Machine:
