New Brothers in Arms Screenshots and Video!

Yeah it looks great, but I didn't like the gameplay. It was for certain people. I just wanted to attack instead of making a "battle plan" and flanking. :p

I thought the brothers in arms were good, except the graphics werent top notch.

Contrary to most, I thought BIA was great....I hope this one is even better....

Thanks for the 3 seconds of gameplay, where absolutely nothing happened

I didn't like the first BIA because I felt it was too hard to do what I wanted to do. I absolutely love WW2 tactics, and I thought this game would be for me, but they did a bad job of pulling it off. Hopefully the interface and how orders are issued is much easier this time around.

Did you see that blood on that guy's head? I bet that this will be the first WWII game where the violence isn't watered down.

Hm, quite impressive although it doesn't look like it's a real person playing it, feels like the Killzone PS3 trailer with everything scripted. Though I guess it's all ingame though besides that. :)
Very nice bang from that grenade, plenty of particles flying across the screen.

E3 2006 can’t come any sooner…

I'll listen to the interview tomorrow.

Yeah, you can tell that wasn't somebody actually playing. I don't doubt that graphics are like that...but that's not live playing footage.

Goddamit, I hate it when they pull this crap. Show us some in-game footage, not just in-engine footage. I like this new craze for body awareness, it really helps me get into the game.

Looks very good but im so sick of war games. We need some hard core story's like Deus Ex...Ugh,,,,

But that would require creativity :O

Thats so sad...All we have is Valve and a few other small dev. teams. Man. I hope CryTek is pushing in that direction as much as gfx.

From that little bit of gameplay they showed, I can tell it's full of scripts and eye candy

It's gonna suck SO BAD

You realize a certain other game was full of scripts and eye candy right?

And that game turned out fine. Why wouldn't this?

tbh, I was more interested in the Odama trailer...

Pinball with mass destruction :O

edit : Just watched the video with the hawt presenter lady.

Holy ****!... it's obviously not being played by anyone but... God damn it looked really cool.

Wait... I remember saying this about that Killzone 2 video... x.x Doh! ;(

xlucidx: Didn't you download the HD version instead? Much better quality.

If that's for the trailer, no thanks.

Watch the one with the presenter lady, that IGN Weekend Update Episode-type thing.
Shows alot more footage from the trailer.

No, it contains the whole gameplay footage. :)

Woah, just watched the full trailer

I can only hope that video wasn't scripted, but other than that the game looks amazing

From what I've read this is what I've gathered.

- When your guy catches the man who got shot this is called a "Brotherhood Moment" and these happen sporadically throughout the game to give it more drama
- They've attached the camera to the third-person's model head so that's why the camera looks so much different (also a lot more realistic)
- It is not pre-rendered, and is actually the game you see being played out (though it's just a scripted demo, similar to Half-Life's .dem files... Someone did play it, and they recorded everything and now they are playing it back real-time)

So yes this is in-game, in-engine, realtime, however you want to say it... This is not pre-rendered.

BTW Icarus, instead of saying "in-engine" you should throw the words pre-rendered on there, because in-engine and in-game are sort of analogous terms (you can't have a game without an engine)...

I guess ill give it a shot. Video looks cool and my brother was interested in it. Havnt watched the full trailer ill check it out when i get home.

I dont mind scripted games i like both scripted and unscripted games. Each has its own goods and bads.

Really? Because all of that looked pretty damn pre-rendered. The movement was way too damn smooth for someone sitting around playing with a mouse. Also, the weapon movements didn't look right. And the placement of the marker on the ground also seemed very fake. Again, the throwing of the grenade didn;t seem anything like it would in-game.

As it was "played" in the video there I don;t think I'd like it at all. Didn;t feel realistic at all.

Alright, maybe i should say pre-rendered, but i figured the distinction between in-engine and in-game was good enough.

Well in-engine and in-game are sort of the same thing :p The only difference is whether they are pre-rendered or not.

AFAIK, this is real... Camera viewpoint is tied to the third-person model, which is why it's swaying and looks more smooth... It's not the instant feedback you get if the camera is seperate from the 3rd-person model.

Weapon movements seemed to be caused by a heavy breathing animation (and since the camera is tied to the 3rd-person model you get to see those up close)... I mean they did just parachute out of a perfectly good airplane into a shitty neighborhood which is why he would be panting and swaying his weapon...

Not sure about the placement of the marker, maybe it's the intended effect? Not sure how the location of a marker on the ground could indicate whether it is pre-rendered or not...

Obviously I'm only going off of what I've heard/read, and I haven't seen the game... So it could be pre-rendered but IMHO, unlikely as they wouldn't show such footage only like 9 days away from E3, just so everyone is disappointed when they get there... I feel that this is in-game.

Be aware that these are the second-wave of games coming out for the Xbox360, and are going to be the first ones to start to utilize some of the resources the Xbox360 gives you... Wait until the fourth-wave games come around ;)

Another shooter I just can't get excited about. I have never liked the BiA series though, so that might be biasing me a bit....

looks nice but the 1st was one of the most dissapointing and overrated games i'd played. Ugh

Looks very very good, however, the previous ones did suck imo, however, if this one plays as good as it looks, we're in for a treat..
Who knows, they might make a GOOD game this time :D

The 1st one was very gory. In the opening couple of minutes a guy was spurting out blood from his stomach, and a soldier went insane before being blown to hell by a tank...it then zoomed in to show his bloodied face.

Plus, it actually followed a thinly veiled storyline...unlike CoD2 which was basically "Hey! We are sending you into a another town to clear out the Germans, then we will cut to a loading screen and onto another town full of Nazis". In this, the same "Go to town and clear it out" thing was used, but at least it showed some character building and some alright dialogue. And, it wasn't afraid to kill characters.

I'm looking foward to this a lot, as the only thing I had problems with in BiA was the graphics. That problem looks like it has been solved :)

So..this is based on Operation: Market Garden...so we lose no matter what
