so i went on steam to day and i got an update, i was happy to see it updating always good to seem them fixing bugs, but now there is a new button on the main menu "browse games" clicking it will take you allow you to buy mods or gamse you don't have, so what how does everybody feel about this... seems kinda usefull when HL2 comes out, but other than that it seems pointless...your thoughts

hrmm i wonder if they added the CS:S icon in this update.

It's good for those who want to enter the halflife universe and don't have a cd key, now all they have to do is download steam and purchase the platnium pack within minutes. It also lets people know about halflifes great 3rd party mods such as NS, Sven Co-op etc. Its suprising how many Cs and DOD players don't know about these mods.

I like the inclusion of 3rd party mods :P

another sign that we are getting closer.. ;)

/me mumbles yay very quietly

Isn't this is a completely wrong forum?

Anyway, this update is completely class. Looks like Steam is going to be very ready for Half-Life 2's release.

I love the third part menu, hopefully we'll be able to download the third party games directly from steam in the future.

I think that is the plan. They will probably add a install button next to the site link in the future.

yeah thats a pretty nice feature :)
i was aware of most of the HL mods.. there is one i hadn't heard of.. so i guess this will get the mods the exposure they need :)

in the end, if the mod is well made creative enough.. it can become a huge success like CS did :)

Cool. I saw that this morning, and I went straight to "Play games" cause I was like, "HOLY CRAP THEY UPDATED MAYBE CS:S IS GETTING READY TO PRELOAD!!!" but nah..not yet...

Tomorrow though (At least thats what they say...) :-D

Yeah, I hope it starts tomorrow. And with the icons added, it seems VERY likely, though there still hasn't been any official word as to when.

Whatever you do, don't get Science and Industry :( It's sooo lame
