New Case

well the black one is steel, the silver one is aluminum ..apparently it weighs a ton but is roomy as hell ..not too keen on a grill front as it means dust will make it's way in no matter what

been looking at this one lately:

one of the gurus at maximum pc highly recommends it ..and it's reasonably priced ..but were I to spend a shitload on a new pc case I'd get this:

or this:

$169 for a case? shit dude, can I borrow some money?

Is what you are putting in from your signature?

$169 isnt that bad for a case, especially since it's a quality case ...a case can last 3-4 generations of pc hardware so it makes sense to buy quality ...my current pc case is a little cramped and a little too loud for my tastes

I think im looking to go somewhere between 100-150 dollars. Basically I just need a decent amount of room.

Sub-question: I also am getting a dvd-rom and dvd-burner, why are there very few SATA's on new egg compared to IDE's?

they've been around for a bit, but all new dvd drives come in sata

btw the pc cases I listed are fairly large

My friend had a case similar to that. Plastic breaks.

protip- it's hard to make a bad decision when buying an ATX case. $20 cases function just as well as those $200 ones, without all the LED lights and fancy smancy crap you bring to a LAN to look cool.

Well, my case right now has alot of dings in it, and the only reason my PC was not harmed was because I have a strong metal case. If I had a plastic case id be in tears

Im looking for something sturdy and roomy. Im not sure if this is considered "too" big for what I'll be putting in it. Can anyone comment on this or suggest a different one?

My friend has this case, with the LCS installed in it. Has a Q6600 OCed on it to 3Ghz and it's ridiculously cold still. Looks great too when I saw it. Most cases are reviewed on youtube so check out videos of them first to get a better idea of their shape/size/features.

The case I offered isn't plastic. It's steel. Also, I don't think there are any plastic cases with good reviews.

I have an Antec 900 and it's rather good value for money plus it looks sleek.

Thats not a new case, its been around for a while. I have the one without the huge fan on the side. Bought mine before that was released.

Just referring to parts of the case that he has (the tabs on the bay covers). ;)
They do indeed break easy.

Antec 900 from zipzoomfly. They have it for $20 cheaper than newegg with free shipping.

It's an awesome gaming case, with sound ports in the front, LED's, plenty of fans, and HD bays.

The two intake fans take lots of dust though for the Antec 900.

I have one beasty case. It's a dell XPS case, weights prolly 80 pounds all together. It's good to know it can take a round of bullets. It is quite roomy though :D

This is the case that I currently have, I really like the amount of room it has, I don't think I'd ever have to switch if size was all that mattered. Quality case, the cooling system is a little strange especially when trying to use aftermarket cpu heatsink/fans but nonetheless still worth every penny. Plus it looks "elegant" for the most part.

Lian Li has always been top quality and I love their style. Although they always seem to be a little out of my budget. :(

Antec P182 Special Edition! :D
