I'd guess, with a big old bolt action rifle, cutlass and a blunderbuss, he'd be a kinda offensive-defensive class, able to snipe with the rifle but also kill at close range with the blunderbuss or cutlass. Nice.

Maybe give him the ability to parry other people's melee weapons with his cutlass, a wide spread rifle best used at short ranged, and pirate-style pistol which he fires wildly into the air as a taunt.
