Well, I'm about to buy this system:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
EVGA SLI Motherboard
EVGA 7800GT
1 Gig Corsair Ram (2x512mb)
250gig Western Digital SATAII HD
NEC DVD-RW Drive
Antec SONATA II Case
Antec Truepower 2.0 450watt PSU

All this for under a grand. Look good?

Looks pretty boss for < a grand.
If you've got any left over maybe push the CPU spec up a notch or too though.

I guess the evgas come in a combo?

I'd say it looks damn good. The only thing I would be careful of is the PSU...i'm too lazy to look up the specs for that one but it's probably fine...

I checked the PSU and it looks like it should be okay....the Video card comes with a mobo at a discount.....and the mobo is actually pretty decent, just not very good at OC'ing. But well see...

nah its good for ocing, i got my 3200 up at 2.6 ghz with this mobo

Yea, but it has plenty more slots to add more if I need too.....Don't worry I looked into that, and its plenty expandable

Awesome picks. The Sonata 2 is a good case. It's focus is quiet and not cooling though. That 120mm fan is a better choice than 2 80mm fans.

I dont think the Sonata 2 comes with a front fan though. I'd recommend picking up a 120mm for that. The mount holes for the front fan on first Sonata case were right behind the harddrives...not sure how much room you have with that video card though.
