Watching this I realized how far the channel has come, it used to be boring animal documentaries, now almost every single show on the channel is awesome.

If I could pay for one channel a month, it would be this. Unfortunately they charge you $50 for a billion other channels like MTV with "Pimp My Ride" so my family discontinued tv a long time ago. Now I D/L episodes and use Netflix. I met some girl in college after we were talking about the channel. She would have been my first gf but unfortunately I was graduating in 2 weeks. What a shame too cause most girls don't like Mythbusters, etc.

I liked the special Alien Planet, which was about these two fictional robots traveling to a planet and finding life. The coolest part was that it looked a lot like Xen. For example, the Eosapien, the only sentient creature on the planet, looked a lot like the Controllers:

They even had these plant things that looked EXACTLY like those plants that would stab you if you got too close.

I watched discovery since the 1998 and like it

I have see they have become more popular and mainstream in a good way using shows about things people are more familiar whit like cars and such,before it was more technical and serious
