New Elderscrolls 4: Oblivion Screenshots!!!

Still overusing that bloom effect...

Perhaps. Lets hope they work out any of the problems there might be.

woah those look brilliant, sod the bloom effect, it looks great on those, love the town pics too, brings back memories of the streets in daggerfall only not so squarish. I want this game right now damnit!

I don't like the first 2 outdoor village shots you see. It looks like something from WoWarcraft rather than Morrowind. The indoors and the last outdoor building shots look great though.

God, that game looks gorgeous! I wonder what the recommended specs will be...

God... My breath flew away...
twice...
I'll be fighting a ton of monsters..
And all of the sudden be stunned by the effects... and the quality..
Then I can shit my pants...
twice..

Nm...just shit my pants just lookin at the game..

i wonder of this will work on my Geforce 6800 Ultra

I'm pretty sure it will run good on your Geforce 6800 Ultra. It's also coming to the Xbox 2 which does not have better graphics capability then the Geforce 6800 Ultra. At lease thats what the Xbox 2 spec sheets say.

Im just guessing but...
anyone who can play HL2 well should be able to play it, you may have to suffer ultra-ugly 640x480 rez and no special effects though.
-er.. I might have to, not you

I have made a small music video consisting of every ES4 image and artwork that I could find with some music if anyone wants it. It's about 22MB.

This is the other game that I have been waiting for.(after GT4)

It looks like it's going to catch my computer on fire.

I just hope they improved the fighting, and hopefully nice menus.

I hate the sky its too blue. It should be overcast or sunsets. something interesting.

I can't wait to own it!

Looking forward to it,when they going to release a demo,I want to see if my system can run the game.

From what I've both read and heard the XB2 uses a next-gen graphical chipset by ATI which surpasses the power of all the graphic cards currently released, keep in mind that when the PS2 for example was released it had games that looked better than any PC game at that current time, so I think it'll be the same for the XB2/PS3, i.e. they kicking ass graphic-wise when they're released then sucking after a year ;)

I don't see why not, if you look at the images they are very simple. No more complex than Morrowind except now they've more shader dependant surfaces and will have polygon occlusion culling (which was the only thing that really made Morrowind crawl) The grass is sprite based, Farcry ran perfectly fine with MORE of that kind of detail on screen. Same goes for Stalker, the leak version has just as much detail on screen as Oblivion, more so infact, and ran perfectly fine and that was before any of the surfaces were being handled by DX9 so it was all upto the cpu, and ran really well on a basic 1Gig Athlon

Oblivion will run just fine providing they've ensured a polygon blocks the calculation of those you can't see behind it. Which they will have done otherwise its a very bad move, it would be impossible for them to even develop it in such a case, so its obvious they'll have worked on that or other methods of optimizing the area's.

It'll run, don't worry :)

Hopefully my computer will handle it, Morrowind still makes my computer struggle even today! :| Even with the FPS Optimiser - but it's about time I got a new computer anyway. :D I wanna play this game in all it's glory :)

I have to say I never would have expected to see a gothic cathedral in the game. I admit I know next to nothing about the Elder Scrolls universe, but it just seems far too stylised to blend with everything else. Not to mention p'raps too derivative.

I'm sure they're saving the really interesting stuff for a later date; the few resonant memories I have of Morrowind involve the various building styles.

Man I hope they let you turn off bloom, shadows, and mess with the draw-in.

My computer will not play it otherwise

Jesus, turn down that bloom effect please.
Otherwise it looks good.

How come everyone is whining about the bloom on this but nobody moaned about the guildwars one which was 2x as bad.

/me looks at pictures.. Looks at my computers specs.. Closes browser.. Goes cry in a corner

What the ****, isnt the R500 supposed to be like like three times as powerful as the X800xt ?

Why Cant I See Any Pictures!!! It Says Bandwidth Exceeded
I'm guessing cause so many have viewed the pics (and they were pretty large file sizes aswell) that where they were saved ran out of bandwidth, hence bandwidth exceeded. ;)

I think someone said they saved a copy of them, scroll up through the thread and check.

Edit: I might still have them in my temp cache.. I dunno though with FireFox.

:O Where is the real TDE? He'd never say the bloom was anything but pure...tackiness :P

This game is certainly looking tasty though.

Just look at them on the TES website, they're the first 3 ones.

There's only 3 new ones on the TES site, on the other one there's 13 new ones - if you just scroll down a little.. :upstare:

Unfortunately, the architecture, flora and fauna seen in Morrowind is mostly limited to that province only. Oblivion will be set is Cyrodiil, the homeland of the Imperials. Expect to see more traditional fantasy settings. More information on Cyrodiil can be found here.

How are they going to make a proper fallout 3 with that engine?

Nice pics, definately be picking this up

yep, its definately the imperial style. Morrowind so far I think has had the most diverse architecture because of the kinds of races that lived there, and the harsh conditions and then the influence from the imperials when they arrived, even though the elven population didn't much want them around.

Daggerfall had a few styles, would/should have had far more but of course there were the many technical limits back then. Dear god can you imagine what a new daggerfall game would look like? WOW, so cool it would almost be scary, I can't see a new daggerfall until storage mediums allow a few hundred gig on a disc hehe.
