The halflife2.net CS server was down, and my e-frag faves were full, my CS buddies had long gone afk... and I was bored.
I loaded up Steam, and opened Opposing Force, easily my favourite single-player expansion, but instead of clicking 'Single Player', I clicked 'Find Servers' and randomly joined a server. Woah. It blew me away, having never played HLDM, I was struck by the uberspeed of Opposing Force deathmatch.. I laughed at the 5 year old rigid-backed player models as they ran around maniacly... and I learned all sorts of ickle tricks ... I loved it. My suggestions to those of you who own Half Life are:
1. Whack your CD key into Steam, and download the Platinum Pack
2. Grab Xfire and add some halflife2.net members (I'm ComradeBadger [and if that doesn't work, try mrbadger] )
3. Jump into the fastest Opposing Force DM server you can find with your mates, and game until your eyes bleed.
Opposing Force deathmatch: Eet is dirty and you want eet.
