Shell Shock is made by the team behind Killzone, Guerrilla.
You play as a U.S Soldier during the Vietnam War, and they say that it will show the player the real suffering during Vietnam, so this time it’s no patriotic flag-waving game, this will show how the U.S Soldiers fought in Vietnam, street killing, real videos from the war and so on.

You will also go back the boot-camp after some missions to calm yourself down. Anyway, here is plenty of information about the game and 3 ingame shots.

The game will be released for the Playstation 2 and the PC. Release is sometime around Q3 2004.

"Shellshock Nam '67
War on every front: The Killzone makers put their fingers into american wounds and are sending you to Vietnam.

Welcom to hell! With these unkind words the MAN!AC's are welcomed to their second visit at the Guerilla Studios. The verbalterror is not due to dislikes against the journalists, it just reflects the coretheme of the new title: In the new Eidos game "Shellshock" you are wearing the uniform of an US-soldier, who has to represent his homeland in the vietnamese jungle.

Shocking fascination
At the beginning of your carrer at the front you are acting as an ordinary soldier but later you'll be a member of a CIA special unit. Of course your missions are also changing dramatically through the course of the game: At the beginning you are just one small piece of an epic battle, in the last third of the 12 missions you are asked to do some sabotage actions and to free hostages. Fortunate enough you are mostly supported by some fellows: The AI fighters warn you with shouts about nests of Vietcongs, give you fire support or are moving forward into the green hell automaticlly.
In contrast to "SOCOM" you never ever have control over your fellows- tactic fans have to search their game of choice elswhere. To differentiate "Shellshock" from the rest of the pack the development team counts on shockingly realistic images: Filters much like the one in SH3, execution scenes and real video footage from the Vietnam war are making you nearly physicly feel the war - no comparison to the patriotic "Medal oh Honor" series. To recover from these images you return often to your basic camp. There you are talking with recruits or train your shooting skills at the friring range with over 25 weapons either Kalaschnikov, mines or flamethrower etc.
If all these things will make a AAA tile has yet to be seen: Our play with the PS2 jungle has been graphic and audio wise phenomenal but on the gameplay side "Shellshock" has to be more diverse.

And now the subtiles of the images:
1. Battle atmosphere yet to be matched: In the gigantic levels hundreds of AI-fighters are battling it out.
2. Be on your toes: Watch out for camouflaged vietnamese soldiers.
3. Breakfast: "Shellshock" is filled with realistic-brutal images.
4. Technically top notch: The landscapes as well as all soldiers are patched with highly detailed textures - only the framerate is from time to time a bit unstable.
5. Burning forest: With the flamethrower you can burn your enemies as well as your surroundings.

Now additional info from the german GamePro mag:
-it will be released for PS2 and PC
-it will be played from a third person perspective
- Martin de Ronde:"no Hollywood drama, no us patriotism, no bombastic music"
- rendering the face of war with no alterations: napalm attacks on vietnamese cities, executions on the streets
- will use the Killzone engine

Slated for Q3 release
