256 pc2700 ram
FX5200
8x AGP slot

thanks  :bounce:

Get a bigger power supply, then get a radeon 9x00pro that fits your budget. Also, get another 256mb stick of ram. Thank you, drive through.

yeah, first things first, power supply>ram>video card

that ram will keep u down.

trouble is its a shuttle system so im not to sure about whether or not you can upgrade the power supply

laff, Shuttle system is basicly a mini PC.
Only has 2 PCI slots 1 AGP and a mini ATX motherboard along with a mini power supply. The "You need a 300watt minimium psu" may not apply to shuttle systems because they do not have all the pci slots and full system features that also require power.

thats quite a good point actually, seeing as the only thing running from the power supply is CDrom, board, fan etc no sound card or nething
:afro: cheers

Notice how he has a shuttle system. Getting a new PS higher then 200W is kind of hard.

Anyway, shuttle showed that the PS can handle a 9800pro 256mb with no problems.

ok unless you are electrically minded e.g. are damn good with electrics DO NOT TRY THIS UNLESS YOUR DAMN GOOD WITH ELECTRICS! YOU ALSO DO THSI AT YOUR OWN RISK AND I AM NOT HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF YOU ****ING UP!

what my friend did was take the case of his powersupply and moved it down to the bottom front of his case...

with no big case and no fan on it it was air cooled... and it was a lot smaller... bearing in mind this was an atx case but there is room naer the bottom front of the shuttle cases to possible fit the psu... (you will need to extend teh cables for the connector to the back of the pc...) as you can fit resevoirs in there for water cooling the psu "barebones" shouldnt be too hard...

Theres no need to. Shuttle says you can run a 9800 no problems, and ive seen tons of people with 9800s and FX 5900s on hardforum doing this.
