It's a Classic Series 60's Telecaster. It's in very nice condition - I managed to get it for only $500 because someone sanded off the serial number (probably stolen, but hey, still plays the same so who cares). I need to buy some knobs because one is missing, but other then that, this is perfect.

It's got 3 knobs because it was modded (normally tele's have 2), this thing is pretty sweet to be honest. Goes with my Fender Deluxe perfectly.

How many of these threads are you going to make, seriously?

How many guitars do you need?

I guess I can't really relate; I can't think of a suitable item to compare to a guitar. I know they're not all the same, but they're not all that different either. Like if I tried to compare it to synthesizer keyboards, I think synths are way more varied among eachother than guitars are. And then the other difference is that you can actually use multiple synths at one time with a sequencer or whatever.

Well normally the guitars I buy aren't really all that different in tone, but my main guitar has a fatter tone, more low end. Tele's are all about bright high tones, even someone who doesn't play guitar would easily be able to notice the difference. So I got 2 ends of the spectrum with this guitar now. A guitar for highs, and one for lows. Plus my other one is great for distorted tones (active pups), this one is amazing for cleans (this has single coil, my Ibanez has humbuckers). Plus I just like collecting them as well, also having a bunch of different feels to play, they all feel different, my Ibanez has a thin neck, this one has a curved neck radius, and has a fatter neck. It's also heavier then my Ibanez and alot thicker (my Ibanez is super thin though)

How many guitars do you actually own now?

I've got my Ibanez, Telecaster, and my Doubleneck. 3 guitars, 4 if you wanna be technical (12/6 strings on the doubleneck). Not even that much?

It seems like you've made like 10 threads though.

Oh, well no it isn't, I own three operated guitars, a Fender jag, a Parker fly and a Mason custom, plus an acoustic plus two broken Fenders. But I gig actively with my band so you need more than one, if you aren't gigging etc than I wouldn't bother with anymore than two max, but your money, your life lol. And yeh it does seem like you make a thread about them every week haha.

I dunno I fix guitars for friends, and have built a few for people.. I've got tons of parts and bodies and necks and shit all over the place. But only 3 actual guitars. I also buy and sell alot, but I make profit from that mostly.

Want.

A tele is pretty high on my "list of guitars I'll be buying soon" list, and finding a beauty like that for only $500 is god damned amazing.

Someone out there is really missing that guitar, I bet.

my dad is selling his tele soon i think which is a bit sad as i use to love getting some squeal out of it. if i wasn't going back to uni every term i'd convince him to keep it so i could keep playing it every now and again, but i guess out of his acoustics and his new SG it's not going to get much from him now either.

ah well.

That's a pretty sweet guitar. I've been wanting to get an electric for a while now, just building up the funds to get a decent one.

What do you guys think about gold hardware and maybe a black pickguard? Or should I just keep the chrome? Keeping the brass saddles though, those are obviously custom, as this guitar comes with chrome plated ones.

to be honest, I think telecasters are pretty ugly guitars. I guess it all depends on your taste though.

You've bought a lot of equipment dog, probably double what I've payed for total for all my gear. However, I still have a very basic amp.

I adore the tele shape, but I didn't want to just get an average telecaster, so instead brought a manson, custom-made in a tele shape, with a sustainer and nailbomb humbuckers, its a privilege to play.

Yea but to be honest I think I'm done now, I literally have my perfect setup. A Fender Deluxe tube amp (would be happier with a twin reverb, but I'm just splitting hairs on that one, my amp and that sound pretty much the same, it just has spring reverb opposed to digital reverb on mine, but I got a pedal for reverb too it doesn't matter really lol). A Telecaster to go with that amp (my blues git), a badass metal/rock guitar (Ibanez), and my flashy sweet ass double neck. Then I got my BOSS ME-50, BOSS RC-2, and a talkbox. I literally have everything I need/want. Now I could get like a $100 interface for recording, but I don't record that much so I probably won't get that any time soon. I also could go with a BOSS eq pedal, but again, it's not necessary.

That is a rather awesome guitar, would love to get my hands on one some day.

Excellent buy, especially for that price. My electric is a 1970 Tele.
