New guy here saying hello and I need some help!!

Hello to all!

I started to play my hl2 over again, because I haven't been playing for a while. But i got to the highway 17 map, and where you defeat the gun ship, the door should open afterwards. Never happens on my game. I am confused and lost on what to do, I even re-loaded it, tryed going back a little. When I get home I am going to do the gunship battle again and see, but for now, I am so lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ermm... I'm trying to think..... Dont you mean the gate bit just after you get the RPG and where the soilder opens the gate for you?

Yes. The gate does not open, both the girl and the medkit guy stand there, and the capt. and the cyclops guy(can't remember the name of the creature) stand in the basement. The capt say's he will send men out to open it, but never do.

The gate only opens when you get in the buggy again and drive it up towards the ramp in front of the gate.

If you have already done this, then I apologize. Other than that, I have no idea.

Try this: go out side and get in the buggy, drive up to the gate, a guard should say something, and then it should open.

Let me guess, you dont have a buggy?

EDIT: if you dont have one put this in the console: ch_createjeep

I have a buggy, and I tried that immediately after he tell's me that. I even tried opening the gate myself, with that keypad on the house.

If nothing works, I will just go across the gate on foot and then spawn a buggy. and go from there, I just hope it doesn't mess with the game.

Hmm... I was gonna say do the the noclip cheat and then spawn the buggy on the other side, but when you put it like that....

Just save and then revert back to it, if it does screw up, i think it switches level soon after that, so i dont think it would do any harm

i hope not. I can't think of any other reason why that wouldn't work right?

I know I have had other problems with my HL2, like it freezing in random spots, and I have no choice but to restart manually.

hahaha I figured you guys might laugh from this..

I restarted it right after the gunship battle. ran down stairs and got him to open the gate.

I hopped in the buggy, and he says good luck freeman, and opens the gate, well right when it open's it hit's that create behind the door and bounce's back closed, like a glitch. So I said screw it and spawned a buggy on the other side. But I thought it was pretty funny.

Yeah some people have that glitch
