Ok i have a new idea for a mod. I want to know if people will like it or not.
Its a futuristic mod But not to futuristic the guns still shoots bullets and the cars still have wheels
there is gonna jet packs and mechs.

you can have a suit on or you can go without one
you can have a sword that has glowinf fire around the blade

thats all what i have so far tell me if it kinda sounds good so i can think about it more.
thanx

urrr....... so basiclly gundam's ? LOL, there has been like 4 different sections to that anime series spamming over at least 300+ films and episodes. Also big swords and mechs? swords in games all together suck theya re terrible unless u are in a fighting game. Maybe big rocket launchers and big gatlin guns, but then u say this is new? they are loads of mech games and loads of sword games. Bothing new here m8, sorry.

Well the reason y i said anything was because i wanted to know what you people think before i do more thinking and stuff on it so i dont wast my time thinking of somthing people wont want to play.

Its not gonna be to futurstic so thats y the cars are still gonna have wheels and the guns still shoot bullets.

don't make it for other people, make it for yourself, cause if you don't really really want to play it and you wont enjoy it, then you'll never want to spend time working on it, if your only doing it for others then it'll be a thankless job for you.

im not only doing it for other ppl
i am going to play it myself to
i just dont want to spend time making a mod when no one else will play it

no one will play your mod anyway. Well let me refrace that, basiclly. You have about a 0.1% chance of anyone actually playing it for longer than a week this is why:

look at hl1, over 5 years there has only been 5 good mods out of it that people still play to this date. But how many mods has there been? well at least 100,000. There are proberly about 1,000 mods going for hl2 atm I expect about 100 to actual finish there game, Might even be less. So what makes you think that people will play it? Sorry to be harsh but if u are looking to lead a mod u must be realistic with your self.

well ok
i will start making it and start thinking of more ideas an such and i will get back to you people when i have more info.

ohh and if anyone wants to join my team email me at [email protected]

i need:
Animaters
Modlers
Skinners
Sound FX
and 1 or 2 Mappers
Thanx

hmmmm ok
i will think about what you said
thanx man

well yes u gave me a new perspective that i will take in mind when i am making my mod. I didnt mind that u came off like that cuz now i know what to do ect and stuff. This is my first time being a leader of a mod team and i am going to need help tips and just feedback to help me out.

My goal is to finish this mod no matter how long it takes doesent matter how good or bad its going i am going thru with it.

100 000? please...

ModDB lists 80 completed mods. My guess is that there were around 400-500 mods that reached beta that weren't just experimentation and fooling around. And a large bulk of those were clones.

The problem is that the mod you're proposing has no real direction. It looks like a bunch of small, random ideas put together. Though your final proposal (on the site) sounds better.

Habitual Scorp...

First you need knowledge of game/mod developing.

Then you need pages and pages of information about your mod, something to start from, a plan, a design.

Then you need to wait for HL2 to come out so you can start modding...

Nobody wants to join a mod that has a newbie that knows nothing about what he's doing as a leader.

So conclusion: I doubt you have any or very little knowledge of texturing, mapping, coding, modelling, skinning, designing, concept art, storyline etc... So what I would suggest is learning some of those, atleast the basics, and then modify the engine (when it comes out) solo.
