They are actually using the name "ipod shuffle" and advertising it as "A new experience every time" this little bitch uses a flash drive and randomizes your music everytime you play it, and guess what?! no screen for selecting albums/songs/genres I think this is possibly the stupidest device for playing mp3's the world has ever shat out! I hate apple more ever day :) and before itunes I didn't mind them one bit

And to proove my point on the site it says "do not eat apple shuffle" under disclaimers so apparently they are targetting total idiots.

thanks Shacknews

acessories to never get caught dead with!

You had to buy one to know Ipods are stupid devices? heh heh.

A random playlist is 'not' a 'new experience every time'.

LOL

EDIT:

But... but... you bought one! lol

:) Oooooh. I want one. Okay, since you don't know me well, I really don't.

:hmph: Where did BHC ever say he bought one?

Oh. I'm sorry. I thought you made the post because you bought one, and were sharing your experiences about it.

I assumed, and you know what that means.

did you see the new imac mini? Im surprised they crammed all that stuff in there....

not gonna buy that thing anytime soon though (or ever)

Why would I make a post flaming someting that I Just bought, i'd at least pretend to enjoy it :P yay random songs playing in my new trendy piece of shit that has a 2 hr battery life and plays random songs

You can play tracks in order, but one would be foolish to buy this (or the mini, for that matter). Buy the full-sized one, it rocks. Take my word for it.

Because some people are smart enough to realize they made a stupid purchase. Although even smarter people are wise enough to do some research(like you), before buying them or not buying them <grins>

2 hour battery life? Dude, you could play 20 songs in that time, maybe as many as 30!

You made an ass out of you and some guy called Med, that's what!

I've thought all iPods are utter wastes of money. I've always been happier with the concept of cheaper "rip-off" mp3 players (I believe my mum has an elderly, inexpensive Yep somewhere) or, god forbid, a CD player. I value my cash more than I value being able to listen to a huge library of songs, and as for this random iPod thing... ah, I can't even be bothered to mock it. It's too late.

but you cant actually select songs :\

I didn't realize that. I thought they were pretty cool at first, but if you can't select songs then there's no way I would get one.

Worst part is they're using it as an advertising mechanic "have your music take you on a journey every day!" :hmph:

 My music takes me on journeys everytime i'm ****ing stoned.

That would be a better advertisement, so they can support the fight for legalization of marijuana, then everyone and their grandpa's would get an Ipod for sure.

Personally I love my iPod, but these iPod shuffle things sound RETARDED.

First I have heard of them actually.

I wonder how this will do in the small player market, with so many better products out there.

Just to clear this up, the actual iPod is an amazing piece of technology. You can sort songs (or go on a shuffling journey of self-discovery, if you'd like), make playlists, etc. And the thing is just so darn sleek.

But Apple is completely out of their minds with this iPod shuffle. I can't even comprehend it!

There’s nowhere your skip-free iPod shuffle can’t go, and with up to 12 hours(3) of continuous playback time, it keeps going as long as you do.

Now I agree with all your other statements about the iPod Shuffle, let's just get some facts straight before we bash that pitiful thing some more :)

Or just drag and drop individual songs from iTunes onto iPod shuffle. With Play in Order mode
Kind of like and old Muvo model Or an mp3 cd-player without info tags it isnt that bad but it could sure as hell be a whole lot better
I think it only randomizes if you use that autofill BS

Is it like getting a tape/cd/minidisc and putting it in the blender, then sticking bits together and listening to it?

It would be an easier way to shuffle, I've gone through 5 blenders in 4 months. That's more than 1 per month.

I got a Zen Creative Jukebox. 30 gig. 150 dollars, but I got it under the table.

Huge as hell, though.

my friend has that, we call it the "tank"

I have a mini, and love it.

Very small, more than enough capacity for my music, and a joy to use.

But this "shuffle" iPod is just a money grab.

No, it's just not targetted at you :)

tbh, it sounds exactly like my mp3 player, except a good deal cheaper, and holds more songs.

It's a smart marketing move.

and it's random, HELL YEAH!

My point is, a lot of people think that £220+ is a lot for an mp3 player, and this is who Apple are aiming at, not you rich folk.

And to go with that cheap ass mp3 player....

Check out the new cheap as hell Mac Mini!

Fun for the whole family!

sheesh, if you dont like it, dont buy it! I dont see what the problem is.

regardless of what some of you think, apple will sell a ton of these ..some of you bash apple just for the sake of it

Welcome to the internet....I for one never used an apple products, but I want to tho.I really like the looks and performance of OS X.

If I only had the money... :( That Mac mini sure does look good right about now.

I've used macs for 7 or so years ..still have one and still use it. The mac mini would be great in my living room ..but they need a matching keyboard and monitor (although I think you can use your tv with the right adapter)

You can go and buy aluminum keybords at directron.com or xoxide.com...They have lots of neat ones.

Also for the matching monitor...doesn't apple make 3 beautiful lcds screens?20'/23'/30' :P

ah ha ha!

i think it says don't eat because there is a pic of it next to gum and they don't need to get sued because "the coffee was to hot," so to speak

Apple are just good at all that design and stuff that technically is worth nothing but adds value to an otherwise underpowered product.

Still makes me want to buy the damn things though. DAMN THEM!

The product is still freakin' stupid.
