IGN said:
According to the ESRB, a game titled Lost Planet Colonies is on the way for Windows PC and Xbox 360 with a rating of T for Teen. Whether it is a full sequel or an expansion remains to be seen. Word of the game has been floating around the internet for several months now after Capcom trademarked the name last year, though we still have yet to hear any announcement of an official nature.

When contacted for a comment, a Capcom representative simply told everyone to, "Stay tuned."

:bounce:

the first one was a sleeper hit. it sold about a million copies but people don't seem to know this game well.

Lost Planet looked so hot graphically, and it was pretty good (except for the most of the climbing/Snow Pirate missions -_-). Like Starship Troopers on ice.

Can't wait to see how this turns out.

This game is pretty awesome, except the cave missions, I felt that they weren't as graphically pleasing as the barren wastelands and snow plains with the Undeep.

Me hearts the Undeep.

Those worms were a pain in the ass.

Like giant ****ing whales that took it up the ass like burly men. Every time I could get a bead on their weak points with the RPG they would jerk around or start diving back under the snow. Then I was eated. **** off Undeep. The Chrysalis and their ground sweeps combined with those flying trilobyte bugs were just as annoying. Little pecker heads would knock you off of platforms.

This is where the Gatling Gun comes in handy.:sniper:

I couldn't be arsed to carry that thing around. Too heavy and puts a damper on maneuverability. Comes in handy when fighting Dodongos if you can reach a safe point they can't roll up to though. It's especially awesome to shoot them and watch their body armor get blow off into chunks. :)

I wonder if this is the rts they mentioned a little while after Lost Planet was released?

Are you staying a good distance away?
I can't be arsed to carry a rocket launcher, and I usually snipe anyway, I had no problem taking out the worm the default rifle, but going through a 2nd time, the sniper did work better.

(Does the worm notice you even if not in a VS?)

Yeah. I keep a good enough distance, but carrying that thing around is just asking to be eaten alive when that things does it's charge. They track any above-ground movement. You go a good enough distance into the wasteland from the abandoned base and several of them will appear. I swear to God there was at least 3 or 4 of those things in that ice field just before you reach the chick in the VS.

First time through was straight up "Oh shit run" moments the whole way through. First one erupted from the ground and took out my VS, I made brown and made a beeline through a colony of those sons of bitches.

really? I have only faced one.

*must play again, facing many at a single moment.*

The thing is they won't all come after you at the same. As soon as you leave one Undeep's territory you're entering another snowfield from Hell.

Have you ever been able to land a rocket in on of the bastard's mouths? Whenever they roar there's this big blue/green area in their throats, but they close their mouths before I can land a shot in there.

Grenades are your best friend.

I mark the worm by destroying two thermal energy spots, but that is the same one that followed me through the entire plain.

Others won't show up until you kill the first one then. Persistent sob.

If you want a challenge, kill every single one of them. I didn't get past 2. :(

sounds easy actually, maybe just because I loved killing them.

Didn't like the first very well. It seemed to much like an arcade game, with the retarded energy limit or whatever the shit. It ruined the game for me. Seriously, if we can't keep our people warm in the future, what the shit do we do now?

Thats the point of the game.

You and the other snow pirates are an original colony sent to E.D.N.3 to terraform the planet so that way it is possible for a mass inhabitation of other humans. However, they were unaware of the Akrids until they began wondering into towns and killing the people. The current inhabitants were given the choice to either leave or stay. Most humans left, but those that stayed begin traveling in small packs, and saw any others as hostile factions. The overall goal of the remaining Snow Pirates is to eliminate the Akrid threat so another wave of humans can attempt to colonize and finish terraforming E.D.N.
The energy limit is your Thermal Energy, and losing thermal energy in a frozen land would cause an individual to freeze to death. On a normal circumstance, people can only be outside terraforming and fighting for so long before they must return to a warm area. However, Gale attached the Thermal Energy converter to Wayne so any Thermal Energy that an Akrid or Snow Pirate leaves after dying can be absorbed into Wayne's body.

And when Wayne was frozen for like 10 years or whatever the hell, wouldn't he have died? The reserves would have sure as hell ran out by then.

The thermal energy converter wasn't broken (yes he did freeze) Luki and the others used a small part of their collection of thermal energy to unfreeze him and get his body to function again.

The last boss fight (and the cutscene) right before was one of the most epic things I've ever seen D:

OH SHIT I CAN FLY, OH MAN THIS IS ****ING AWESO- LASER ****ING SWORDS? HOLY SHIT OH MY GOD

Looking forward to more information.

I hated the worm part. Spent quite a while trying to defeat when I realized I could just avoid it and continue on. But when I first saw it I was like "JESUS CHRIST, IT'S DUNE!"

Last cinematic was too corny, and I hated the cliche 'No you go ahead while I sacrifice myself to stay behind and hold off the baddies'

Too bad when people freeze the expanding water in the cells turns to ice and rips them apart, resulting in a massive body function failure.
