It didn't even make its budget back.

Planet Terror was good, and I agree about Death Proof, the ending was pathetic...

All these movies are trying to achieve that "it's so bad it's good" status, and to be honest it's very hard to get that effect on purpose. Those types of films that Tarantino is trying to pay homage to, all got that effect by shear chance.
