CS:S would be more tactical play.. and hl2dm.. would be a one timer.. that few would play.

Id say work hard, for cs:s and put lots of depth into it, and youll have a winner.

Don't remake your house. I did it and it just isn't good. A house in real life and a house in a game have to be very different. A real house will not play well with a video game. Bots will go nuts it wont work, unless your house is like REALLY simple (mine isnt).

Or do a neighborhood, but that would take a while.

Now if your asking for technical advice, either one would work well if your not going to be playing it with other poeple competitively.

Yeah, I was going to do the same thing, my house anda few friends...

It's a lot of work and its not going to be the same most of the time.
Houses just arn't meant for CS:S

nope. what houses are good for is your first or second map. don't make it for others to play, make it to develope your skills. Thats what i did.
edit: and you can't use the real measurements as they aren't translated quite right in source. so it is a major pain.

some of them can; a player is 72 blocks high... if each block was an inch he'd be 6 feet, and that seems acceptible.

But yeah Houses are good for small lan games with people who know about the place... mainly becuase it's just very esoteric
