hey, i finally got my new motherboard and a gig of dual channel ram. i'm upgrading from Sd ram and a crappy mobo. I need to know, do i have to reformat my harddrive before i install my new mobo? If i do is there anyway around it (driver cleaner)?

You don't need to reformat your harddrive but remove the chipset drivers and other programs from your last motherboard.

know any good driver cleaners or where i can find my old motherboard drivers? i dont see them on the add remove program list

imo would format, when ever I add any new hardware to my computer, especially a new mobo I always do a full format.

i've formatted twice within the last 4 months and its really annoying backing up all your files, reloading windows, loading all my software, remodify windows. its too much of a hassle and my motherboard is so old it probably has 1/2 as many driver "extras" as the standard one today, i just need to know howto get rid of it.

With upgrading your mobo you could save yourself a lot of problems but formatting. Trust me. Just make sure your new mobo supports your old CPU.
