I guess this would be the best place to post this seeing that im talking about hardware... I want to get a new mouse, a gaming mouse, Im tired of useing my track ball for gameing! it sucks! plus its horrible for graphic design and such... so whats ever ones opinion on a good gaming mouse.... I really dont want to spend any more then sixty bux.

There are quite a few options out there for you in the gaming mice department.

You can go with either of the two most popular manufacturers of gaming mice today. Razer and Logitech.

Logitech G7 - A bit over your budget, but if you want bleeding edge this is it. I don't know if you're a southpaw or not, but this mouse fits right-handers only. Uses the advanced laser tracking method. Wireless.

Razer Copperhead
- Also over your budget if you count shipping/tax, but it's all worth it. I own one myself. Fits both hands comfortably. Uses the advanced tracking method.

One step down on both makers, but not to sacrifice quality significantly.

Razer Diamondback - Up to 1600dpi and has on-the-fly sensitivity. Fits both hands. Optical.

Logitech G5 - Uses the laser tracking method and is capable of up to 2000dpi.

Worthy mention.

Logitech MX518
- Very comfortable. Optical.

So there they are. You really can't go wrong with any of them. They're all great mice. It just depends on where you want to go in terms of dpi, wireless or not, price, and right/left handed.

Is there any wireless mouse that needs no dry cell?

dude!!!! thanx for these links!!!! i might just go for the G7 cuz even after shipping and handleing this mouse at this site is way hella cheaper then evey where else! thanx this was just what i was looking for... Im definatly going with a logitech, I trust them with every thing, there wireless ps2 controller is the only one i will play with... im useing a logitech track ball right now... wich i like for just scrolling around stuff but not for games... thanx I think I hook my self up with one of these...

A few days ago I picked up a G7 with a $30 rebate off Amazon, athough I think that offer has expired. It works excellent and is very comfortable in my hand compared to my last mouse. It's very exact and just glides over my ratpadz effortlessly. It only has one minor downside, and thats about a 6 hour battery life with heavy gaming. It's not really a problem though, since it comes with two seperate dry-cells that switch out very fast. Overall, I would not part with it for anything else.

I have a Logitech MX Laser wireless mouse. I like it personally.

WTF!!! Microsoft better then Logitech!?!? have you gone mad!!!???
Err, MS' mices are on par with Logitech's, so it generally just comes down to opinion and what you personally like, and I prefer MS' so I suggested.

I guess i really shouldnt talk... i never really tried a microsoft mouse... but I do trust logitech... I've never had any thing from them i didnt really like.

My mouse broke recently (it was an explorer 2.0 which was pretty good...once). And i bought a Razer Copperhead mouse (tempest blue) - this thing is the dogs bollocks of gaming mouses out there. Worth it for that reason, also its very beautiful with its glowing scroll wheel and coloured bands on the side lit up by the internal lights. Lovely indeed.

Don't trust the MX518 series. I've gone through I think 4 mice since Christmas. 0_o

They said if I break it again I get a full refund. I don't even do anything with it, the cord just eventually breaks in some spot and it starts to freeze up, and then eventually won't even work.

I got a G5 recently - better cord, better mouse, it's awesome :D

I've had an MX500 for a year or two, and it's served me beautifully. Still works like a charm.

Yeah I've had a number of wired and wireless Logitech MX mice. Great products and they are very responsive. I have the G5 at the moment.

It doesn't have a 'forward' button for the web browser though. :(
That's the only down side. I didn't hit 'forward' that often I guess. Mostly back back back... hehe

i was also thinking about getting one of the mouse pads from the valve online shop... those any good... and dose the G7 have the Adjustable Weight Cartridge because the G5 and the G7 look almost exatly the same exept that the the G7 is wireless and the G5 is not.

Well, MS' hardware is generally accepted to more or less always be of high quality/design, so that includes their keyboards, joysticks and whatnot.

i got the Counter Strike mouse pad... didnt really like the others... woulda got the DM one, but wasnt feeling the red... didnt like the Half life2 one, too bright... and didnt wanna sport the aftermath one cuz it just looked like a random screen shot... by the way... are these pads any good, I didnt relize how big they where till i bought it either!?!

I don't have a HL2 mousepad, but I would guess it's based on preference. There shouldn't be anything wrong with getting one.

well, nothing else coming from valve has been anything less then bitch'n awsome, so i asume it will be good... probably better then any other half assed mousepads I've had in the past.
