new NV(61.77) slower than old 56.72!

I have been thinking since I installed the new Nvidia drivers 61.77, that my machine seemed slower.. sure enough my 3DMark03 went from 6009 to 5581!

I reinstalled 56.72 and all is well, back over 6000. What the @#$@$# happened? New drivers are supposed to be better not worse!

This might be related to the use of the Cool Bits/NVclock. I think the old driver works better with CB/NV than the new one.

Anyone else have anything like this happen?

I hope you didn't go solely on the 3DMark03 scores. 3DMark03 means squat..

No. BEFORE I checked 3dmark it seemed slower, this was when I was playing farcry / painkiller / ut2k4. 3dmark just gave me a number to put with my lack or performance.

When i installed the 61.77 driver's, everything in Far Cry went to a light blue color. I rolled back my drivers and it went back to normal. I usually tend to stick with Nvidia graphics cards, but I might get me an ATi for my next card.

edit: I found out that I had to patch Far Cry to be compatible with the new Forceware drivers.

I've been testing drivers and it now always runs Farcry at 4FPS.
Battlefield runs just fine though.
Guess I should try the new 61.76's...or reinstall Farcry. lol
I never had issues with ATI's drivers except when back in the day with my AIW Rage 128 16MB PCI card.
