It's going to be the brilliant "The Importance Of Being Idle", quite possibly one of the best songs Noel has ever written. Surprisingly the video, available to stream for Media or Real player here, is not to shabby either.

Enjoy.

Going head to head with Coldplays "Fix You" in the charts I believe, should be interesting.
Oh, and the video ****ing rocks.

Not a big fan of the song or the video for that matter.. There's much better single material on DBTT that would help the album Keep the Dream Alive, A Bell Will Ring, Turn Up the Sun, Love Like a Bomb (great Summer tune and it's Summer!), Part of the Queue.. but Noel is a stubborn bastard and only usually releases stuff he's written (bar Songbird).

A Guess God Think's I'm Abel/Love Like a Bomb double A side would be killer with a much more up-beat video.

Jesus no! Guess God Thinks I`m Able is a decent tune but in no way single quality, or KTDA or ABWR for that matter. In fact out of the songs you just mentioned, only Turn Up The Sun would make a good single, and that`s not to everyones tastes either.
I think this song is an awesome choice for a single, the song is not usual Oasis, it`s an amazingly catchy tune and the lryics for it are awesome.
Sorry you don`t like it mate but you are in the minority, and the video, well, the best one Oasis have ever had, end of.

The best Oasis video's are from the BHN era mate. All Around the World and D'you Know What I Mean?'s video's are tops.. I don't think TIOBI is a good single for the fact that I heard Noel play it at Manc's and for the most part he sounded stupid singing so high (like he was trying to emulate Chris Martin maybe.. heh) and most of the people in the audience were looking around with a "heh?" look on their faces.

If that was on the 3rd mate then I had a different experience to what you had, where I was was the crowd were singin along!
While I agree that the videos for BHN were very good (Stand By Me inpaticular) I don`t think that they can compare with the laughs that are had with this video, the band, for the first time in an Oasis video ever, aren`t taking themselves at all seriously, which is most apparent when Liam gives Rhys the look from sitting on the chair, awesome!

The video was ok, but the song doesn't really appeal to me, not my style i guess.

i agree with stemrot, great song and a very good video. while i do think that there are other single worth songs on the album, this would be one of my picks. truth is, every time i try to think of what i would release as a single, i almost name the entire album. i dont know why, but DBTT just clicks with me. every song is amazing and i listen through the entire album while im at work all of the time.

I think the next single after this should be Turn Up The Sun, one of the best on the album :D

either that, or a bell will ring. or let there be love. or...

Turn up the Sun is great but the next single will either be Love Like a Bomb/Guess God Thinks I'm Abel double a-side or A Bell Will Ring.

A Liam double A-side is a distinct possability, although I personally don't like LLAB, it's something for the ladies. ABWR is the strongest of the non-gallagher songs and certainly deserves it's time in the sun (d'ya like what I did there?) after the missed oppertunity with Hung In A Bad Place.

Almost forgot, the best Oasis videos are indeed from the BHN era. Stand By Me being the best by far. Shame about the album.

I think BHN gets a raw deal, had that album beenmade a another band it wouldn`t have got panned like it did.

had Be Here Now been 25 minutes shorter, and had Owen Morris taken out 40 odd guitar layers in each song and Be Here Now would be in the top 2 Oasis albums probably. BHN should really have been called "Coke Fueled Guitar Rock Taken To The Extremes Of Lavishness..".

That may be, but when you`ve got songs like DYKWIM, Stand By Me, Don`t Go Away, All Around The World, It`s gettin Better Man, you can`t really argue that this album does have some cracking tunes on it.

i agree 100%

Be Here Now was also the last album to have A-Side worthy B-Sides on every single.. Stay Young, I Got The Fever, Going Nowhere, My Sister Lover, Angel Child, Flash Bax...

Let's All Make Believe, Ciggies In Hell is the only single B-Sides I totally dig > BHN

Hmmm, while I`d say the b-sides were consistant up till that point, I would have to disagree about there not being any quality b-sides since then.

B-sides greater than A sides since Go Let It Out:-

One Way Road
Shout It Out Load (****in love this one)
Thank You For The Good Times
Pass Me Down The Wine
MY Generation (I know it`s a semi-live cover but even so)

Woah woah woah, Pass Me Down The Wine? I've never heard that and I've got all their singles bar Lyla.

Nah man, it`s gonna be on The Importance Of Being Idle, but was leaked on the net from ITunes as a bonus track on the album, do a search on Kazaa or LimeWire or summat, awesome tune.
