new offline problem

I've been playing the game since I got it, and beat it yesterday. I started a new game on the hard difficulty, but now when I click on offline mode, it says failed to connect to steam network!! What the hell?!?!?
God DAMN who ever did this stupid BS.... I'm so sick of dealing with this F'ckin' crap.
