I had a lengthy argument with someone in steamchat about a topic similar to this (was it you!?) when there was talk of being able to record and upload videos automatically with Steam.

And I don't feel like delving back into it, but I just say 'meh' to this. There's already a billion people streaming shit nobody cares about, and this will just triple that number. Anyone who actually has a desire to host a quality stream can do it without having it built into a game platform thing like Origin (or Steam)

So basically it's the argument of whether making these things convenient is better than having them require some effort to set up, for the sake of keeping the amount of garbage out there as low as possible.

Yes, it is better. Garbage is easy to ignore, quality will still be the only thing watched. People who make quality stuff will simply have an easier time of it.
