hello everyone,
all my life i have been a console gamer. went from NES to Genesis to N64 to Dreamcast to PS2 to Xbox to Xbox 360. i still love consoles, i haven't given up on them. i just recently gt my first new computer. for the past 5 years all i've had were hand me downs from family, so i never had a computer good enough to play current PC games. the last "new" games i played on a PC were the original Doom, Rise of the Triad, Hexen, Sim City 2000, etc....so yea, i'm new to modern PC gaming.
after i finished building my computer a few weeks ago, i downloaded a few demos to check out games. F.E.A.R. was ok, kinda freaky. but Half Life 2 was really nice, so i went out yesterday and bought it.
and so naturally, when i get into something new, i want to join a community regarding the subject. after doing a quick search on half life 2 in google, i saw there was 2 predominate sites dealing with half life 2: the IGN owned Planet Half Life, and this site. and since i try to avoid big corporations as much as a i can, i opted to come here because i figured it would be a better community.
so here i am. i look forward to talking with all of you in the near future
