My friend is building a new gaming pc this spring break and he asked my my help. i recommened him to get an AMD CPU cuz it good for gaming. His budget is $1200

I dunno what case my friend wants to get, but he said he wants a clear sided panel with an exit fan.
 
Looks great except I would change the power supply and monitor.

I would go with a trusted PSU brand rather than something with a list of 'went bad after a few months' in user reviews. I'd say Thermaltake would be a good performance/cost balance. Otherwise Antec, Enermax, Fortron etc would be best for stability.

As for the monitor. Viewsonic and Samsung are probably the top two brands at the moment for LCDs. This guy is a great screen and not much more.
 
i would go with an sata hardrive over the ide one and what motherboard is he going to buy?
 
it was originally the eVGA mobo that came free with the 7800 gt, but hes gonna switch to a DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D ATX AMD Motherboard cuz its good for overclocking.

Also, i told my friend that the 7900 series will come this month so he should wait till the price of the 7800 gt drop. or he could get a 6800 GS.
