Just got a new Pc has xfx7900gt 256mb, 2gb 533mhz ddr2ram, 160gb SATA hd, 450W power supply, Intel D945 mobo wiht 3.1ghz HT processor, and case off of tiger direct did I make any mistakes my friend said I did by not getting a mobo with SLI is that a big deal? ALso will my processor stay in date for a while I want to play games on High for the next two years.

also im only getting 57-60fps on all high video on source is this normal or should i bet getting higher? I know this because i did net_graph 1 in my consol and it says fps:60 I keep hearing of plp getting 120+ on newer games iwth my card is this possible or do i have setting thats not right?

Turn off vsync in your driver control panel, it sounds like your 60 fps constant is due to vsync, as that might well be the frequency at which your monitor runs (60Hz).

Decent setup there mate, should do you well for a while to come. Enjoy

sli would've been better but its not necessary to get great gameplay.

no chance.

hes right theres no way you can play the games on high for that long of time but you will have to lower settings

especially with DX10 right around the corner, dx10 cards are not too far away either (unless your impatient :p)

even though dx10 wont really be used widely from the start

Bottom line, that pc will do a sterling job of running games for the next couple of years. Maybe he might have to reduce a couple of settings to medium here and there over that period of time, but the games will most likely still look great and play well.
