New Portal Preview

Although there's not much of a story to Portal, the puzzles are presented as part of a continuous narrative: You play a female researcher at an unnamed test lab (it's not Black Mesa; Valve says it's set more in the Half-Life 2 timeline), who finds herself being pushed through a series of tests involving portal technology.

Confirmed as a girl now finally?

Anyways, can't wait for Portal. Should be a really fun time playing with this one!

Portal's looking very nice, and my opinion on the story goes something like this.

Aperturescience.com terminal thing: 1982 Aperture Science, Inc.

Due on terminal: 20 year old equipment

1982+20= 2002

Black Mesa Incident: 200X

Maybe the time period takes place during the interim, when Gordon is in stasis?

Portal storms?

Maybe we'll find out that it was her and not Gordon that is responsible for the Portal Storms. Would be typical for a woman to go and mess up anything she gets her hands on.
