Next time put a bullseye on him. It'll be even easier to hit him then =]

Actually I have one with a bullseye on the back of the flack jacket. Have to look around for that file. Help yourself though.

Nice camo...if you are hiding in a fire. ;)

(Only joking, looks good.)

Remeber only YOU see this model, not the other players. If you want to differenciate between sides more so on a server with ff, this is a good alternative then shooting your own mates.

Or, for an advantage, make the opposing team as bright as possible!

Wait okay! So I have Vtex and GCFScape... how do I export the textures to edit and then recompile them?

Thanks!

I would'nt mind making some variations on skins too... where can I access the files to do so?

kind of takes the realism out of cs:s when you have dennis the menace running round

hey awesome it's Freddy Kruger.

That's what I was thinking.. Or was I infact thinking when I might have been dreaming the whole thing? Is this forum real? *runs away screaming*

Damn see if I help you idiots again. The whole point of cs is mods. Ever heard of the bender mod? Or changing all the vips to hot sexy porn stars. Changing the look of your guns and the sounds and the muzzle flashes. First you morons complain about there only being 2 skins to choose from so I show you another skin and you complain about that as well. This skin is perfect on aztec where the ts blend in too well against the walls. If your on ct it makes the t's very easy to spot when they come through the double doors. Also helps to differentiate from long distances. If you don't like the skin then don't respond you ungreatfull swines.

I was only kidding about the freddy Kruger quip.

If you just want to differentiate between them and make them easier to see why don't you just color the Ts bright red and the CTs bright blue? ... or is that taking it too far? You could also use a certain shader to make the models stay bright in the darkness.

The only altered thing I have right now is dark blueish green color aztec water (like there's a lot of algae in it) that's a little bit reflective. It doesn't help, but I like the appearance. If you wanted to cheat you could make the water pitch black, drop the normal maps, and make it highly reflective... then, it would be easy to see the reflections.

I enjoy messing with the shaders as much as anyone else... but Valve needs to start enforcing some consistency in them. Right now, it's way too easy to cheat by just adding a couple of lines to a text file or changing a few variables.

cause making a model bright in the dark is called LAMBERT. Wich of course is considered a cheat. Just light white walls. I usually use the bender model mod which looks like homer simpson for the cts and leave the t's the way they are. I don't know how to make skins I am just offering an alternative.

The thing I was referring to was changing the type of shader from "VertexLitGeneric" to "UnlitGeneric"... or one of many other easy changes to the player's skin shader that make the player very easy to see. Basically what I'm saying is, in its current state, the material system is a gaping hole allowing all kinds of things that can give people a distinct advantage. I would prefer to have the ability to make aesthetic changes, but if I have to play the game in its original state (the way the artists intended it to look) so that people can't do stupid shit like that... it won't bother me at all.

Also, I was trying to show how fuzzy the line between "customizing" and "cheating" is... because if you pick custom models and skins that are brighter than the default skins or contrast each other more (as you gave for one of the reasons to use the skin you linked to) than the default ones you are technically cheating... because it gives you an advantage over the people using the default skins. If you say it's fair, what's stopping other people from getting more and more differentiable skins (eventually reaching skins that are just solid, bright colors)? Well, that lets you see people better in the light and against all kinds of backgrounds... why then is something that lets you see people better in the dark a cheat and that isn't? You see, it's another case of a "slipperly slope" (often used in reference to where to draw the line between legal and illegal abortions) leading to abuse of a loophole/rule/system.

nice skin :D i liked it

but i agree with Ocybramano about thats it is definit advantage, anyway isnt pure servers restrict of using different skins?
