New Starcraft 2 video

Nice find.

Still think this is the coolest Protos video though:

Sweet :)

I love how everyone goes "Gameplay > Graphics" and StarCraft had pretty much ultimate gameplay... StarCraft 2 is probably going to follow suit and have kick-ass gameplay at the expense of some graphics. Still looks good though.

I'm worried about it. From the videos I've seen it looks fine, not spectacular but fine. But Blizzard really hasn't made a good game since the original StarCraft (well, I haven't played WoW, so maybe). They went from being my favorite developer back in the day to one I make a point of avoiding. This looks to borrow a lot from WC3, which is a very bad sign. I'm taking a wait and see approach.

Warcraft 3 was/is excellent.

I just hope they don't take the hero system from the game and toss it in SC2... it's fine in WC3, but it just wouldn't fit in a game like SC2.

The new engine is cool. Debris sliding down the slope, tripod walking down a cliff. Very impressive.

I sure hope not. Those bitches will have to answer to me if they're gonna mess up my Starcraft.

You're probubly the least of thier worries. If the mess up StarCraft the RoK airforce would probubly bomb Blizzard HQ into the ground.

I'm still pretty skeptical as they're introducing units that can climb up cliffs and shit... why not just make that a default feature? :|

Something tells me, the entire country of Korea will buy tickets to the US, and EVERY plane somehow manages it's way into the Blizzard offices.. :O

cool

even if graphics seens more cartonish the game still keep that starcraft feel

it seem they will do mor ethat just putting new extra units and are changing a lot

The same reason why not every unit can transport, attack at a distance, become cloaked, and fly. It's all about strategy and tactics. And also resource management. Basically so you can't feasibly win with nothing but weak units, yet simultaneously make it difficult to win with just expensive units with lots of abilities, so you have to compromise and make a somewhat diverse army.

The units that traverse cliffs are going to be more expensive than any comparable units that can't. The Terran raiders will probably cost 75m/50g as opposed to the Marines' cost of 50/0, but that extra cost gives you higher mobility and most likely higher health/damage.

Meh, I guess that's true.
I figured balance and strategy were some of the reasons for it.
It just seems gimmicky.

I think the reapers will be weaker that the average marines, just a guess

anyway we still dont know how the gampley will be

They changed many things. Are the voice actors changed too?

THEY had BETTER keep in USE MAP SETTINGS.
Or I will send a very angry letter.
...In caps...

The tempest makes me cry. That thing does not look as threatening as the original carrier. :(

And why is it called the "Tempest" and not Carrier? :( Oh well, game still looks like it's going to be a top seller for a loooong time. People who are complaining about "cartoony graphix" are probably the people that would rather beat off to the good looking games, and praising it for everything, when the game was so boring, it makes you want to rip out your eyeballs.

Blizzard has made games that rank the top of the genre multiple times. They will do it again, I'm sure of it.

yeah tempest dont looks so cool but maybe they change the ide and made it into a more smaller airship

Personally im all about the zerg, and I think sc2 looks fantastic... makes me want to fire up the original and looks like its a #1 seller on gamestop

On the official SC2 site it's explained that after the destruction of Aiur, the Protoss have had to make do with what's left of their empire, and that's where all the new units and unit updates are coming from. The Immortals are the new Dragoons, the Tempests are the new Carriers, and so on. They're not as huge and imposing as before, but that's necessary to give them a more scrappy and desperate kind of look.

hahaha I made a thread almost identical to this cept it was purely a rickroll, good times
