New Steam accounts?

We we have to make new Steam accounts since HL2 will have it's own serials?
This would apply only for multiplayer games like CS:S.

No.

An icon for HL2 will appear. You right click and go to Purchase, you select the option "I already have a cd-key" (or something like that) enter it and voila it starts downloading. If you've entered the hl2 cd-key, you'll also be able to download CS:S.

No need for a new account.

You can register multiple CD keys to any given account. I myself have pack of the original Half-Life games and CS:CZ registered to mine.

Why would you want to do that? Does that allow the game to be used on your account from multiple computers at the same time?

brilliant plan, reg all your stuff to one account. if you get kicked off/lost pass/anything that requires valvesupport you are screwed.

I used to do that but I decided that I'd vary the passwords that I use to make myself less of a security risk.

Stingey, if you lose your password and can't access your account then there is a password retrieval system. Keeping your CD-keys is a good idea too. And if you lose all your CDs for the games and then you lose all the data on your HDD, it's no loss because you can just log into your account and download them all again
