Feedback on the update would be appreciated. The last time I updated it messed up my gaming experience. I currently have Steam Running and won't update if there are issues with this ... and may turn off auto update if that's the case.

Anyone?

From the update description:

"Solved disc in drive incompatibility error by removing Securom disc check routine"

So I assume retail owners will be able to play without the CD. If so that's going to make alot of owners happy, or at least happier.

shame they spend so much time and energy on fixing multiplayer issues instead of fixing stuttering/crash bugs in the single player game.
