The developers of one of the best Wii games so far, Excite Truck, are developing another game for the Wii. I'm ill so can't be bothered to write much more. I'll let Kotaku explain:

Monster Games, Minnesota-based developer of Excite Truck for the Wii, are hard at work on another Nintendo-published game, one described as "top-secret." Well, aren't they all top-secret, even if they're Excite Truck 2?

It may not be a direct sequel to the Wii launch title, at least according to an older rumor about Monster Games' development plans, via good ol' Surfer Girl. Locally Grown writes that the development on the game is "so private the designers must darken their monitors when the bottled-water deliveryman enters the office." Certainly not for Excite Truck 2!

According to the article, Monster Games has been hard at work on the unnamed title for two years, as of last month when the article was published. Perhaps Nintendo will have some surprises for us early next year.

Yay! Perhaps one of those rare titles worth buying for the Wii.

I played a small bit of Excite Trucks. It was good for the laugh but (if I owned a Wii) it wouldn't have been a game I'd have gone out and bought.

Based on the recent trend of Japanese companies outsourcing their properties to western developers, I'm gonna put my money on Zelda.

^ That might be a good thing. I no longer have any faith in Nintendo (except for perhaps Intelligent Systems) to produce good games.

Only one person we can ask about this new game...

Well apparry a new Zelda is being worked on by the same people who made Twilight Princess so I'm not sure it will be that. I was thinking it could be a new Starfox or F-Zero.

Oooooh, if it were Starfox.....

/me has hope again

Starfox or Pilot Wings could each be disgustingly good on the Wii. A new Wave Race or 1080 would be nice too.

It could be Excite Bike, but considering they had such a good engine going with Excite Truck, I don't know why it would take them 2 years to convert it slightly for bikes.

A new Wave Race would be 100% welcome as would a 1080 game for Wii. It could possibly the only game that would make me buy a Balance Board.

Wasn't Wii Music supposed to be the greatest thing ever too?

I don't have faith in 'secret' projects anymore.

When was Wii music a secret project? They've been hyping it since the Wii came out.

I really want a Wii Kirby game to come out. Yeah, it doesn't really need the use of the Wii-mote, but it's long due for another outing.

Following in the footsteps of Kirby 64 would make it an amazing game.

What the Wii needs is some big developers - the Capcom's of this world - making flagship titles primarily for the Wii. I really don't get it. The controls are awesome - a bunch of games have shown this beyond a doubt - and an absolutely ridiculous amount of Wiis have been sold (and not only to those who crave party games). The market is there - where are the big, non Nintendo games?

I want a RE made for the Wii, not a Wiimake. Where are the decent SquareEnix games? We should be up to our necks in Secret of Mana style rpgs and Orta/Starfox shooters. The Wii is by far the best party console ever devised, but there aren't nearly as many traditional games as it deserves.

bah

nRevoltution, a British Nintendo magazine, has just announced that their mag is going out of print. And it's because Nintendo aren't making enough "hardcore" games at the moment.

And I agree.

Maybe I will go out of print too in protest.

Nintendo stopped requiring faith by 1995. Even if the glory days are over they still kick ass retrospectively, and they still release quality titles just not in such abundance.
