this is all on air, in a huge oversized lian-li tower with tons of room for air flow, i'm replaceing the stock heatsink on the video card with a nice copper Zalman 700 with an LED on it, i'm keeping my old heatsink and fan (xp-90) and a decent fast 3-blade (pushes lots o' air). I am hugely impressed with the performance and benchmarks of the athalon x2 and simply would not pass it up despite my limited budget. It's no fx-60 but it's still a damn good proc for the money, i'll run apps in the background while playing games on the source engine or bf2. Good times!

I'm posting on my parents awful Dell which is so full of malware and random shit that I cant even play WoW at a decent fps, the reason I decided to upgrade was when I was tweaking and unlocking pipes on my ledtek 6800LE my mobo just quit on me.. it basically would no longer stay powered more than 30sec, I tested it in every way possible and it was not the psu or my hardware so I decided to get a new mobo.. but I wasn't getting another agp on socket 939.. dead tech.

Nice pc mate. I nearly went for an X2 with my new rig, but decided in the end that as most of it's use is gaming, might as well get a decent single core, so i went with the 3800+, a modest overclock and it performs on par with an FX-57.

Hope you enjoy your new rig

:)
