New TF2 Blog Post

I'm not sure how it's gonna work...? I like the idea but it sounds like a person or clan can abuse it and constantly connect and disconnect to remove your server from the master list. Hopefully there are measures in place to prevent that.

wow, thats a pretty good method. im guessing the AIDS pool is on the right end of that spectrum.

Fixed easily enough. Just limit the rate at which a single Steam account can cast votes. It only takes 1 person to join and play for 30 minutes to counteract the maximum damage an abuser can do per connection.

Of course, serious abuse could still happen by someone with many Steam accounts with TF2, but that should be rare. They could put a max rate on both Steam account and IP if it's a problem.

Sounds awesome. Seriously, Valve kicks more ass everyday.

Sounds great, not that down here in Aus we had much of an issue with bad servers. Even so I'm glad to hear the server system has more integrity/accountability now.

I absolutely hated joining servers that I thought had a pretty decent game going (23/24 players) only to run around like an idiot trying to find people who weren't there.

Interesting. Completely delisting servers seems severe though. Maybe they should just make these scores visible to the player joining. If you have a high score you get a smiley face next to your name in the server browser and an angry face if you have -600 or whatever.

The first thing I do when I connect to a server is hit Tab. Much more efficient than your method :p

he blue line in the graph represents the scores for all the TF2 servers.
Is Valve color blind? There is no blue in that graph at all.
