New to BF2 full; ranked or not?

What would you recommend - playing on ranked servers from the beginning to unlock weapons get badges etc., or play on unranked servers?

I played on ranked mostly since I started yesterday night, but I am dissapointed with myself. I played the demo quite well, but now I get killed so many times and rarely kill anyone. My stats are 25 kills and 76 deaths

its up to you, I play both. 70% of BF2 time on ranked servers.

I've never played on an unranked server. Are all weapons unlocked there?

I did about the same when I first got the game, you just need to learn the maps is all.

Ranked servers. I've never played unranked, except for the server I created.

I only play on unranked when I want to play with a couple friends....if you understand the significance in that...don't spoil it for those who don't

I played about 20-30 hours non-ranked, then joined a ranked servers, looking at it now, I would have about 1500-2000 points more

Just play ranked, better players, you will learn more even if you get owned at the start. ive only ever gone on an unranked to piss about in planes doing stunts,lol

They play both the same, sometimes I see more skill on unranked.

Unranked could have more skill, because a lot of clans play in unranked.

I think the better players play on ranked servers. On most unranked servers i had a kill-death ratio of 2-1, but on the 2 ranked servers ive played on so far im gettin like 1-3

P.S. why dont many people play medic? i think its one of the best kits there is, besides assault with a FAL

I played on the BEST ranked server EVER. I am a ****ing moron for not taking a screenshot, but lets just say we had the best squad BY FAR. My whole squad had +50 points for each of us. We kept infiltrating the USMC ship and stole the Black Hawk everytime. It was the most fun I have ever had in that game to this date. Honestly, if the HL2.netters could bring up a BF2 clan, it would be AMAZING. I love the teamwork aspect.. It is just amazing as to what a squad that cooperates to its fullest potential can do..

This has brought back my love for the game..

yeh, i haven't had a moment like that for a while- but am still lovin ranked servers.
Good squad experiences turn this game into one of the best ever made imo- makes you forget about rediculously long verifying times, lag, and various other bugs.

I did that. Me and the squad got in an APC/2 and started taking flags on the "wasteland" and really, we never got touched..but we ended up having 40ish points before we got killed...so we got in a blackhawk. Well, the squads points together was over 300, nearing 350. I had 100 of those points, the next guy had 90, next 80, and the rest lower. We just kept on raping everybody in the blackhawk. All in all, we won the round, and the squad got all the medals and everything. That happened once, and I havn't had it happen again yet That was when I first bought the game.

Yep, yesterday I was on a server, were all my squad members had microphones and we talked what to do next etc. First round on Mashtuur City we took the Blackhawk and totally mowed everyone, with actions like me quickly jumping ut of the heli to revive someone and jumping back in to mow some more

Unfortunately we got our asses kicked the next two rounds, I don't know how that happened considering how we pwned them the 1st round. Still was fun though

i have yet to find a good low lag server with people who co-operate. i think everyone that play the game is dumb....they always just run up, shooting, all alone. also when i ask for a ride and the dudes just drive over me, or past me......
