New to "building"

My friend and I constantly fool around on our own server. We always try to build forts out of anything we can find. Recently I learned, via console commands, there are ways you can have items fall and stay in place. I was wondering if there is a website and/or tutorial for these building console commands? I'd like to just start out with being able to build 'forts' on my own server and always learn some of the server commands to allow cheats and to spawn items/npcs as well. Any help?
