New to Half Life

Hey! I've always heard about it but didn't pay attention to the Half Life series until E3 a couple weeks ago. I couldn't wait to see Halo 2 but this game's gonna be amazing! Anyway I played through the 1st level on Half-Life but if anybody could just give me the storyline that would help cause I'm not getting the first one now.

I would get the first one and play through it if I were you, it will make HL2 more entertaining if you know the story, plus the originl is still a classic. I just finished playing through it again last night as it happens.

i never played the first one but im looking on ebay for Half Life 1 i have Opposing Force, but i just wanna complete the first one to better understand HL2 i mean just the little comments that refer to HL1 makes all the diff to me

just get halflife. then you can put your cd key in steam, and get op for and blue shift for free.

Got HL Generations 3 for £10 a few days ago for a friend - gives u HL1, Blue Shift and Opposing Force (and, er, CounterStrike).
[If u get just HalfLife on it's own it doesn't gives you access to Opposing Force and Blue Shift]
