New to the forum, but having some issues with HL2

Hello everyone, seems like a nice forum you all have here, think I'll be stickin around for a while.

Anywho, while I was playing HL2 episode one today my game froze. I managed to close it with alt+tab and kill it with ctrl+alt+del. Now, however, whenever I try to run the game, steam takes me to the purchase screen. I bought the game from the store so I do have a disc hardcopy but I would rather not have to reinstall to fix it. Any ideas?
