Jess Cliffe write on Steampowered, that a new update is ready:

An update to the Counter-Strike: Source beta has just been released. Steam will update itself automatically when you restart. Here is the change:

* COUNTER-STRIKE: SOURCE BETA CHANGE Fixed crash (memory exception error) caused by physics props

I'm waiting for performance patches. The game can crash all it wants for all I care as long as it works flawlessly inbetween :)

Ahh, that bug has been getting on my tits, glad they've fixed it.

hhmm... I just have to say this now. I realy thought the game would be good (cs:s) but i can't find anything else good than the graphics. First i thought "okay the patches will make it better" but no sucks ass hard time this cs:s. I just hope the full version will be better until then 1.6 all the way :(

Gameplay-wise, they're not going to change anything. This isn't a test of CS:S, it's a test of the general Source engine and netcode.

Ya Chris_D me to that bug they fixed makes cs:s very playable now im happy

if they would just fix the damn lag spikes bug with ZoneAlarm I would be happy

CS: S still crashes on me for no reason, and the new update didn't fix it. :-O

Next thing they need to fix is the way the netcode works, forcing you to aim where the target was half a second ago to hit him, and then the crosshair. Pretty damn good for a beta!

I couldn't join the larger servers because of a memory error. This update fixed it. GJ valve! :E

heheh looks like every 1 havin probs :( is this goin to effect HL2 release because of the bugs in source or are they only CSS bugs? not more delays :|

You are forgetting this is a beta to test problems in the game. These problems being found will not slow down the game, if anything they will speed the process up. If there wasn't this beta test Valve would need to do a lot more testing on their end and they wouldn't be able to identify all the bugs in the source so we would receive a buggy game around release.

ain't that the truth :(

ZoneAlarm is crud ;) Use Sygate Personal Firewall...way better if you want to know more about what's going on. And no lag. And free. :p

from HL2 fallout

Update 2:
Cliffe was kind enough to drop me a mail, stating:

I said the email from "Ted Durnek" was bogus, not the Mike Dunkle one.

If they don't release a map I'll still be happy, because a patch of 36mb should fix quite a few bugs :)

I had a Feeling it is bogus enless someone hacked Cliffe forum account or something. Ever Since someone found Gabe Newell Password with same as email name i dont trust anything till i actually see it happen. :)
