The deal is done. The US House of Representatives has accepted legislation drafted in the Senate to fund Nasa for the new financial year to the tune of $19bn. All that is required now is a signature from President Barack Obama. That looks a formality.
So the new US space policy looks to be agreed, $1.3bn will go to commercial companies for taxiing to the ISS and NASA has instructions to build a new rocket and long haul spaceship to take man beyond the ISS with basic elements of the systems ready by 31st December 2016.
