New Users Please Note (Posting URLs)

For your first 10 posts if you attempt to post a URL in a topic then it will not appear, instead it will be sent to the moderation queue. Posts here will have to be authorised by a moderator before it is posted on to the forums.

This is to stop spam bots and other advertising scum from spamming the forums. After your first 10 posts you can post any URL you like (within reason!) without it having to be authorised first.

I think you should combine this with not letting new users create a thread (only reply in an existing thread), and then not aloud to create their own threads unless they've got 10 posts (replies). Because spam bots will still create threads, but instead of "Hey, this site is cool *link*" it'll then just be "Hey, this site is cool"...

Funny how the idiots who advertise in their sigs post here thanking us for this system. Just makes it easier to ban them
