New video driver so I can play HL2. Please help!!

I am trying to install the new video driver for my zx5000 everytime i install it and the computer restarts, i right click on the desktop and go to properties etc. and it says i still have the old
video driver! MY COMP STILL SAYS IT HAS THE OLD VIDEO DRIVERS! EVEN AFTER I INSTALLED THE NEW ONES ABOUT 5 TIMES NOW. Here is how I checked to see what driver I have.
RIGHT CLICK ON DESKTOP. PROPERTIES, SETTINGS, ADVANCED, ADAPTER,
PROPERTIES, DRIVER

It still says I have the 6.14.10.6430 A
version after I installed the new one (8.003.3 C) and restart. Why can't I update the driver to the new one?????

Yes. I followed this advice:

1. Click Start, Control Panel, and then Add/Remove Programs.
2. Select the application(ATI) .
3. Click Change/Remove.
4. Now follow the onscreen instructions to complete the
un-installation.
5. If system prompts for restart, please do not restart the notebook
and
go ahead with below steps.


6. On the Desktop, right-click My Computer icon and select Properties.
7. Click Hardware tab.
8. Click the Device Manager button.
9. Click the "+" sign next to Display Adapters.
10. Right-click the listed adapter and choose update.
11.specifiy the path where the display driver is saved.

You can also the uninstall the display driver and without restarting
the
computer install the display driver.
