New Video / Vegas

Hey guys. I just thought that I'd share this with you, but I was talking to a manager at EBX about getting a job at an EBGames that was opening in my town, and I brought up the topic of HL 2. He said that him and a bunch of other managers of EBX from around the country went to a closed door session at Las Vegas, and he said that they showed NEW footage from Half Life 2. He neglected to mention what was in this new video.

I said to him, it was probably one of the older videos, and he said that he has all the older videos on his PC, and that it was NOT. It was brand new. Oh well, I just figured I'd share this with you guys being that their is nothing interesting to actually talk about anymore. Who knows, maybe, not saying yes / no, but maybe this new one could possibly show at Tokyo today?

I dunno, like I said he neglected to tell me what was in the video, but from what him and his disctrict manager saw, they said that it appeared to be brand new footage. He said that it was live feed of them playing off of a REAL demo. He also noticed that the game looked absolutely beautiful, and that it looked complete.

Heh, I asked him what his viewpoints on the delay was, and he was like
"Don't even go their...just don't even go their with that bullshit...".

I was like hmm...we all hear ya pal.

I never said it was a 30 sec. video. It was a playable demo and it was shown for about 10 minutes he recalls.

I was just quoting Apos, who mentioned the HDR video, and it was a very short video IMO, of about 30sec (maybe a minute, I haven't checked the time), but not much more...

If the 30th goes by without any sort of information, details on a demo/video or a demo/video itself then that will really bite the big one. However, it could be because they're really busy working on the game.
If another week goes by then the crap has really hit the fan and will continue each week they decide not to post anything.

i think this delay is getting to us all. valve have to say, do or show something to clam us down because of this. :cheers:

Try 2 minutes. But I doubt they'd show just that to a large audience...

He didn't say if it was going to be released to the public or not, but I do believe him. Only because when I called like 5 days prior to yesterday, I asked to speak to the manager, and he said that he was away at Las Vegas attending some sort of gaming convention.

As for the delay, he hasn't said anything about it.

So, if there is really a new demo or something, I suppose they're planning to show it in Tokyo today...

By the other way, it would be a very bad idea NOT to show it in Tokyo.

We only have to wait, at least till tomorrow (Tokyo time, of course...).

i dont think anything new is at teh convention, but i think well hear shortly..cause i think its night time there...like 9pm ish??

here in UK it is 6:15pm.

US it is 11am? 1pm?

Hmmm...why so late? If the show has already come and gone...you'd think someone in Japan would've leaked the news about what went on to other press outlets around the world.
