I know I'm not going to get good, it's just good practice seeing what people do in the map. I'm not going to play in a nub server forever, but this is my first time playing it, and so I'd like to be able to try the maps out with others instead of creating my own server.
So if anyone actually has anything constructive to say, please do, and I'll thank you for it.

Yup, I find playing with the best of the best right at the start helps me improve the fastest. Although, generally in all video games I play I can become good really fast, especially in FPSs. While you're dead, spectate some of the better people on your server and watch how they play, the weapons they use, etc. It really works. I just started playing CS with CS:S as well, started like 3 days after it was released (not the beta), and now I can usually get in the top 3 on all servers, which I'm extremely proud of.
Lol, I'm not quite that good, but I'm happy with myself so far. I went on one of the HL2.net servers, played some Office, and got 3 kills, which are the first I've gotten ever. Something I don't like however is when people jump all over the place, it just seems cheap.
Oh well, it's a fun game anyways!

Well jumping at times feels right to do. To add another dimmention to dodging bullets. I duck and jump as well as strafe and move forwards and back. Its an art to be able to evade someones fire, stay alife to kill them instead. Because you can die of a headshot really easily, you have to be on your toes and paying attention.
I learned how to play by just playing, regardless if they were good or bad. I tried to have fun, and experiment. I went from liking the Colt, to liking just the Deagle (some fun times there, getting head shots left and right) then realizing I needed to use two weapons to be the most effective. That turned into me enjoying the pump shotgun because of its accuracy and power, although its not the fastest, with well aimed shots, it kills fast. Match that with the deagle, and youve got an unstoppable force.
Just play, have fun, dont fret if you die, keep playing and you will get better, and find out stuff you like to do. One piece of advice, dont go the same way over and over on a map, people will notice and shortcut you to kill you. Change up things, do different things, it makes people think and then you can strike. I bet you guys havent done alot of silent shotgun kills, well I have, specially when people are AWPing, I come around behind them and shoot their head off with a pump shotgun. Haha, have fun!
