Next Generation of StarWars, "FORCE"

I've been waiting for this for a long long time now :D
Any idea on which platform this is coming on?

no idea,

all four: PC,X360,PS3 and Wii ?

Wii = 100% because of its light saber controller

for me: I want a PC version

Hooly f-ing crap! ^___^

That was totally wickedly awesome!

Ahh, it's great to be Jedi.

The description says "CG Footage from the next-gen star wars game."
If it's pre-rendered I don't see what's so impressive.:p
I'm kinda confused by they saying CG, if they mean pre-rendered or not..

... looks exactly like every other jedi knight game but with better graphics, and if they're prerendered, what's the fuss?

There were some nice concepts shown in there :) Can't wait to try some of those out when the game is released (I liked the holding the guy up while your buddy lightning's him and also throwing everything at the tie fighter)

Obviously that's not what it will look like graphical (though with the right engine and the right team they can get close... Obviously they will use some of those models and texture and stuff used in there, so it will look somewhat similar)

what he said.. i still enjoy jedi outcast

Looks like Jedi Knight with more shit to toss around with physics

If the force powers are anything like that, and there are destructable environments and screaming stormtroopers, it will kick ass.

Why didn't anyone think of a complex physics system for a jedi game? It woudl be totally awesome to have an environment like hl2 and have complete control over objects like that.

I think the exciting bit is meant to be that there's gonna be a new ****ing JEDI KNIGHT GAME. But less force powers, more lightsaber shit! come on!

Pre-rendered ftl. I love Jedi Knight games, but this game must have: A PC version (otherwise the developers fail at life) and lightsaber dismemberment.

The Wii version is the only one that matters.

LucasArts recently announced that they're supporting all next-gen consoles (whether it includes this title or not was unspecified). They also hinted at the similarity of the wiimote to a lightsaber and made lots of lightsaber noises.

I don't see how the graphics they pre-rendered are BS.

I've seen pre-rendered crap (Killzone? Call of Duty?). But this doesn't look so implausible with the right engine and artwork except for the ending.

What excites me is how force-physics (yes, I coined it) is so much better now with more objects/lighting/details. Notice how the force push in the rain created puddles when the boxes crashed down.

The only thing I kinda thought rough was the end, but I'm sure you can do it, just less spectacularly.

Yea, this is a Pre-Vis and not really a marketing trailer.

In this they will use some textures, models, etc that will be used in the game, and the point of this is to show you what the level they want to achieve and some gameplay possibilities.

So yes, they made this so it could possibly be attained graphically. The point is, is that it's sort of "I won't believe it until I see it" because unless they get this running 30fps on the consoles, it's no good.

I like, but not even the most powerful jedis in the movies (such as yoda) could pick up a group of people like that and fling them around and force lightning on them. A bit farfetched even for the starwars universe.

Star Wars on Wii, so many miniature orgasms just shot through my body.

Wow, I really loved the Jedi Knight series, only games I ever joined a clan for. And if they actually plan on making a new Jedi Knight. I can't wait!

Wii is going to be amazing for Star Wars, and any FPS, actually.. I'm buying the shit out of the Wii!

Lucasarts need to stop making Jedi games, and make a goddamn sequel to Tie Fighter. Hell, I'd be happy with a remake.

i agree with this. i want the assault gunboat though.

oh yea and remake xwing while youre at it assholes. with sexy 3d graphics. god it could look so good...

Haha that was awesome. Anyone noticed how strong stormtroopers are? One guy just ripped off a giant piece of a spaceship.

Looked cool. Will be interesting to see if the final game can match the kind of action they scripted for this video.

Would prefer a new tie fighter game though...

You've never watched Cartoon Network's "Clone Wars".

Very True. AFTER they accept a Sam and Max project, re-make Monkey Island for next-gen, and make a good Indiana Jones game.
I don't know what's more shameful, Lucasarts whoring the Star Wars license for FPS, or them not realizing how many damn good licenses they have. >_<

wrong, watch star wars clone wars (cartoon) again.

Er, obviously you've never watched the Clone Wars cartoons, where whole legions of battle droids are being shoved around. *Glances at other replies* Hm, seems like I was beaten twice. Well, here's a third telling off for you!

And holy friggin' awesome. Didn't realize it was prerendered when I was watching it, but no big deal. If the gameplay is like this, it will be great. The ability to pick environmental things up with the force is something that's seriously been needed in a Star Wars game, and it looks like Lucas Arts is finally doing it.

One of the reasons I had so much fun with the super gravity gun in HL2 is that very ability; ripping computer consoles off of walls and hurling them at enemies; picking up enemies themselves and slamming them into the ground repeatedly, like the jedi does with that last stormtrooper in the video. In fact that reminds me of another game I used to do that in, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is...but I used to pick up enemies and slam them into the ground, pick them up, do it again...

What was up with that area of effect move the female jedi does? Did that remind anyone else of the vortigaunt's new power in the EpTwo trailer?

clone wars...so what? It was a non-canon cartoon.

but then again, its fiction, so they can do whatever they want.

The Wii wouldn't just be ideal for Jedi games.

Notice how easily the wiimote can be positioned as a joystick?

Make it happen, Lucasarts.

Clone Wars is canon. The end of Clone Wars ties right into Episode 3. But, we're getting off-topic here.

Well, we don't know about yoda..seeing as he's not the kind of guy to actually TRY something like that. I'm pretty sure he could handle it no problem though.

You could pretty much do anything with the force. Keep oxygen molecules from entering into an area around a guy so he suffocates. Stopping his heart, so it doesn't beat, or even just off-setting it's rythm slightly so he has a heart attack. Undo screws and bolts in a machine so it falls to bits. Cause all of somebody's blood to rush to their head, so it explodes. All kinds of precise, specific things, just that it would probably take an unusual amount of concentration, and it would be against most jedi's moral codes anyway.

What everyone else said :)

Also, was reading an interview with Miyamoto (Mr. Nintendo) at IGN the other day, and this piqued my interest (about the speaker on the wii-mote) -

"When we first started talking about the speaker, there was absolutely no reaction," revealed Miyamoto. This changed when people heard the sound effects generated by the speaker while swinging a sword in Zelda and noted that it sounded like swinging a Light Saber.
Article here, unrelated otherwise but a pretty good read - http://wii.ign.com/articles/720/720121p1.html
